Everything I could've asked for and more
Revisado: 12-21-17
What made the experience of listening to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Book 1 the most enjoyable?
Stephen Fry. His voice is beautiful, he gives so much life to the characters and situations, it's perfect.
Any additional comments?
I have read all the Harry Potter books when I was younger, I read them so fast that my mother could barely buy them fast enough. My sister and I have always loved these books and this audibook helps me introduce my partner into the stories without having to read a book. It is bringing back to many childhood memories and Stephen Frys narration is so perfect. It's a combination of one of the best books ever written with one of the best narrators I have ever heard. Anyone who does not buy this audiobook is missing out.

Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Actually made me tear up a bit..
Revisado: 12-21-17
What did you love best about The Fault in Our Stars?
The story was touching, but I think it was her character. Hazel is, in my opinion, a very interesting character that doesn't act the way I think I would act in a situation such as hers. She seems very courageous and neutral towards her position and I appreciate that, strangely. She makes it seem like dying isn't "that bad" after all.
What does Kate Rudd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I have not read the book, so it's hard to answer this, but I really liked her voice. It was easy to understand, not overly acted, whilst still making clear who is speaking at which time.
Any additional comments?
I liked the book. It was sweet and different, whilst overall leaving you with a feeling of loss and sadness. The story was good, but sometimes I felt like the writing was lacking a little bit and tried too hard to be poetic. All in all, I'd probably listen to it again :)

Lovely story, frustrating music
Revisado: 09-11-17
Any additional comments?
Positives: I read this book as a child in german and fell in love with the story. Now listening to it was great, felt very nostalgic. I loved the story as much as the first time and the narrator did a decent job. I liked the fact that he changed his voice per character and although he did not always manage, tried to keep them the same each time.
Negatives: The narrator sometimes had trouble holding a character but what most frustrated me is that I often listen to audiobooks out loud whilst cleaning etc. I was anxious for every time the music would come as it was so annoying and so loud that I would always have to stop what I was doing to turn it down (trying to avoid annoying everyone around me). I really wish there was an option to purchase this without the music or just to put i off, because it really ruined the experience for me. I bought the second book at the same time and now just got through it with exactly the same feeling. Very frustrating!!
