Would you listen to Night Embrace again? Why?

Absolutely!! Truthfully, I am more of a Fred Berman and Holter Graham fan but Carrington did a great job. I especially liked Talon's accent. She kept me interested in the story and she really did Sunshine justice in terms of making her come to life as a character. Her accent threw me a little but it wasn't distracting.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Night Embrace?

The most memorable ASPECT of this book wasn't a "moment" at all, it was Talon as a character. I have read Night Embrace so many times it's sad. Of all the 30 plus novels that Ms. Kenyon has written and I've read, Talon has been and will probably remain my most favored. Believe it or not, I named my son after this character. I was pregnant when I first read the book and it stayed with me. The way that Ms. Kenyon constructed him as a character, as a MAN, just completely captured me. He was noble, strong, loyal, empathtic, intelligent, insightful and brave. He was also flawed, vulnerable and right on the cusp of being a womanizer. Mostly though, he was a proud warrior that loved/protected his family and valued his woman! Apparently, he was also an awesome lover. Those intimate scenes were no joke. Seeing as though I did name my son after this character, I try not to think about that too much. :-)

What three words best describe Carrington MacDuffie’s voice?

Interesting, versatile and pleasant.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could but when I am truly enjoying an audiobook, I like to drag it out because I become so caught up and invested in the characters that I don't want to let them go.

Any additional comments?

I would truly reccomend this book, the series actually, to all of those who like romance/fantasy novels. Ms. Kenyon is an awesomely imaginative author who expertly sweeps you into an entirely new world. She is a true artist that provides such keen verbal/written illustrations that you actual feel as though you are experiencing the emotions and physical happenings of the characters. For example, I could see the beauty of Talon's swamp and feel Sunshine's fear of Styxx as if I were right there with her. I love that Ms. Kenyon's literary artistry allows you to be absorbed into these fantastic stories even if only for a few hours a day.

Would you consider the audio edition of Born of Fire to be better than the print version?

I don't think one is better than the other. However, one of the things that made the audiobook so entertaining was Fred Berman characterizations. I especially liked Vic!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Shahara!! She kicks major a**!!!!

What does Fred Berman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Fred. I have listened to ALL of the Sherrilyn Kenyon books that he has narrated and I've NEVER been disappointed. Actually, he is the only reason that I began to listen to this series on Audible. He is also the narrator for many of the Dark Hunter novels and when I saw that he was reading League books too, I jumped to start using my credits! Holders Graham is great too (fantastic, actually) but the sultry masculinity of Fred's voice is mesmerizing.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Move over James bond, you're finally outmatched... and she gives a great crotch shot!!!!

Any additional comments?

I just love this series. Of all the books, Nykerian & Caillen are my absolute favorites. Syn, however isn't far behind. As a married woman, they make it safe to fantasize about real men who know how to love, cherish, respect and honor strong women. Sherrilyn does a great job of making these men vulnerable without being WEAK. I cannot wait for Hauk's story to come out. I just wish we didn't have to wait so long.

What made the experience of listening to Feral Sins the most enjoyable?

I have been reading romance novels for years, since I was sixteen and I'm in my 30s now. Thus, I am used to the sex, sensuality and intensity of great intimacy between characters. This book however, took it to an entirely different level. My husband has provided me with the best sex on the planet but this book still made me say "DAMN!!!" True, Taryn's filthy mouth during sex made little sense to me but apparently the author has her own idea of sexy dirty talk and she stays true to that. What's amazing is how good the actually story is. Many books either have great intimacy scenes where the story falters or a great story that doesn't lend itself to producing a great story. This is usually because romance novels have to walk a fine line so they aren't classified as slutty, too over the top, or inappropriately hypersexual. Ms. Wright found the right balance. I WILL say that the dirty talk, especially all the names Taryn called Trey during sex, WAS a little over the top but it fit the story so it wasn't distracting. I absolutely LOVED Trey, though his mouth got a little outta control too. He was so sexy. When he finally reconciled his feelings for Taryn, it made me like him all the more. It didn't diminish his strength and made him even more wonderful. I loved Taryn's strength, humor and her vulnerability. Her sarcastic wit was hilarious and endearing. She was a great character and I hope that both she and Trey are a part if the following novels.

What other book might you compare Feral Sins to and why?

None. I've read Sherrilyn Kenyon, Laurel K. Hamilton, Shannon Drake and others who write romance/fantasy novels. Ms. Wright stands on her own.

What about Jill Redfield’s performance did you like?

This narrator is phenomenal. He characters have distinct voices and personalities created by slight inflections as she reads the dialog. This is the first book that I have listened to where I have no complaints. She was phenomenal.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Nooooo. I purposefully dragged it out because I didn't want it to end. It truly was a great story. However, when not listening to it, I couldn't wait to get back to it. It really was a great story.

Any additional comments?

I'm glad that I didn't read the first release of this book that had the orgy scene in it. I know that it would gave ruined how much I loved the relationship b/w Trey and Taryn. I know that sex can be great and I'm not a prude but I wouldn't have read and/or thought it cool that Trey would have watched or joined Taryn while she had sex with others. I cannot wait for Dante's story.

What did you love best about When Darkness Falls?

This is actually a very good book. It's number two in the series but when I first read it, I just picked it up to try a new author (by the way, you find it on shelves wriiten by Ms. Graham's alter ego, Shannon Drake). This book is what sparked my interest in the entire series. Around book 4, my likability wanes a bit but I still couldn't fathom removing them from my book collection. When Darkness Falls is a well written story that will make you laugh, cheer and wish for a man (or vampire) to love you so completely. It follows Lucien's story after Underneath the Blood Red Moon and takes you through his history. I loved Jade. She was a little frustrating at times but what woman isn't? It's one of our greatest gifts to drive men crazy! I think Jade and Lucien had wonderful chemistry and it continues throughout the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of When Darkness Falls?

The beginning, when all the mayhem starts off. If I had been in that crypt, I would haved peed my pants!!! It's also where/how the main characters meet.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Tanya Eby is not the best narrator. In my opinion, her interpretation of the characters leaves much to be desired. Thus,I would recommend actually reading the book. The book took me on a fantastic journey and Tanya Eby actually made me long for my book. She's okay but she wouldn't have been my choice. I hope she doesn't return for the next novel.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I have no idea...

Any additional comments?

Read the book first and fall in love with the written portrait of Lucien and Jade's story first. The narration of this book truly lacks the spark I felt when I first read the novel. I've reread it 3 times since then. This is a fantastic book (again, its released by the alter ego of HG, Shannon Drake) and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to romance and fantasy/vampire genre fans.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator. She made all the characters seem so old, especially Lily. She was in her twenties but the narrator made her seem as though she was a much older lady in her late 40s. I really liked this story but the voice characterisation was just BAD!!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hemlock Bay?

How bad the narrator was!

What didn’t you like about Sandra Burr’s performance?

Her voive sounded so OLD and she made Sherlock (my favorite character) seem so corny. When she flirted with Savich it came across as awkward and unappealing, almost juvenile. I know that may seem contradictory seeing as though I said that she made the characters seem so old but its true. The way her voice dragged with some of the narration was distracting. Her performance made it impossible for me to finish the book. I just couldn't take it. It ruined one of my favorite books.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It was a great story.

Any additional comments?

I want my money back. I would want my time back too but it was well worth it to pinpoint an author that I don't think I will ever listen to again. I feel bad for saying it, but it was just awful.
