Historia
The visionary writer and director of Get Out, Us, and Nope, and founder of Monkeypaw Productions, curates this groundbreaking anthology of all-new stories of Black horror, exploring not only the terrors of the supernatural but the chilling reality of injustice that haunts our nation. Featuring an introduction by Peele and an all-star roster of beloved writers and new voices, Out There Screaming is a master class in horror, and—like his spine-chilling films—its stories prey on everything we think we know about our world . . . and redefine what it means to be afraid.

Don't waste your credit on this one!
Revisado: 03-12-25
I reallly enjoy most of Jordan Peele's movies and even enjoyed his take on the remake of the Twilight Zone and I was really excited to ready this anthology with new authors he has discovered. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with all the stories. First of all, none of them seemed complete and just ended abrubtly. In my opinion each story could have been written by a high school student. I absolutely love a psychological horror story and think they are much more intense than the blood & gore type, but these never hit the mark. I was very surprised by all the positive reviews. I had to give up on this one after 4 stories, I just couldn't take anymore. Jordan did not hit the mark with this one.

Historia
The site of the old campus bungalow where two girls were brutally slain is now a flower patch covered with chrysanthemums. It's been 50 years since the Immaculate Conception Murders. Three more students and a teacher were killed in a sickening spree that many have forgotten. But there is one person who knows every twisted detail... Hannah O'Rourke and her volatile half-sister, Eden, have little in common except a parent. Yet they've ended up at the same small college outside Chicago, sharing a bungalow with another girl.

Terrible story line and narration
Revisado: 01-11-24
First of all, what made this book the most cringy was the awful narration. The reader tried to enunciate everything in an over-the-top way which made listening extremely annoying. I've tried to get through this book twice and just finally gave up. I thought this follow-up book would expound on the Family Secrets Book 1, but it completely fell flat. If I see any other books narrated by Ann Marie Lee, I will pass.

Just terrible period.......

Absolutely a complete waste of time. Luckily this was free with my Plus subscription. It's not worth any amount of money. The other negative reviews are spot on.

Not up to my expectations of Bentley Little
Revisado: 08-02-21
I have been a long-time Bentley Little fan and usually I like his stories but this one was TERRIBLE! It had very little continuity or explanation of the what & why of "The Walking" . The story seemed to end abruptly as if he was bored with writing it and didn't know exactly how to write the ending. This was a waste of the couple of weeks of time it took me to listen to this on my commutes to and from work.

Historia
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

Not up to my expectations of Bentley Little

This book started off slowly as is common with Little books, however this one never picked up much pace. The ending seemed abrupt and left me wanting more explanation of events that occurred. Don't waste your money (or free credit) on this one.

Historia
In the small town of Montgomery, Arizona, Kyle Decker's book shop is barely breaking even. When a bank opens in the empty storefront next door, he hopes the new establishment will bring in more foot traffic. Trouble is, nobody has ever heard of the First People's Bank, and the local branch has appeared mysteriously overnight. Their incentives for new customers seem reasonable...at first. But is it a coincidence when Kyle's wife has her identity stolen and his son receives emails that seem to know his private thoughts? Or when the manager of a competing bank dies a gruesome death?

Don’t waste your time or money on this one.
Slow start as is usual with Bentley Little books, but this one never picked up the pace. Story ended just like it started. FLAT
