Historia
The invention of numerals is perhaps the greatest abstraction the human mind has ever created. Virtually everything in our lives is digital, numerical, or quantified. The story of how and where we got these numerals, which we so depend on, has for thousands of years been shrouded in mystery. Finding Zero is an adventure-filled saga of Amir Aczel's lifelong obsession: to find the original sources of our numerals.

Not what I expected but I loved it just the same.

Mediocre
Revisado: 06-25-24
Very little in the way of historical information or compelling factual conclusions. Rather, this is a anecdotal memoir and justification of one man’s crusade to leave a lasting acedemic mark.

Historia
Edwin St. Andrew is eighteen years old when he crosses the Atlantic by steamship, exiled from polite society following an ill-conceived diatribe at a dinner party. He enters the forest, spellbound by the beauty of the Canadian wilderness, and suddenly hears the notes of a violin echoing in an airship terminal—an experience that shocks him to his core.

Narrator of his rocker
Revisado: 01-23-23
John Lee practically made his portion impossible to enjoy. His inflection was a circus of narcissistic performative cringe, misaligned to the text, and unempathetic to the reality that actual human beings would have to hear it.
The story itself was shallow, the characters malformed and undeveloped. I couldn’t care less to the fates of any of them. I struggle to see any fortifying value hidden within the narrative other than a cute revelation of intertwined simulated reality.
