Historia
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

Historia
As if nearly burning up in a freak accident on her way to Earth wasn't bad enough, Daisy had a whole mess of other trouble on her plate. Big trouble. And she was going to get to the bottom of it if it was the last thing she'd do, which it was starting to look like it very well might be. The thing is, Daisy had a simple rule for space travel. Don't blow up, and so far she'd been managing to abide by that, but mere survival wasn't enough.

main character is a bigot
Revisado: 07-21-23
beyond the main character being a bigot, the main conflict is a cardinal sin of writing. a misunderstanding that can be easily clarified and resolved with 5 minutes of dialogue... isn't for no good reason. the main character also jumps to paranoid homicidal ideations and actions based on her bigotry. I cannot empathize with or root for or enjoy a bigot protagonist. having her not be a transhumanist when in the setting it seems very normal is also stupid. her bigotry would be like someone from our Time being bigoted toward someone using a wheel chair or reading glasses, it's just extra stupid since this is a science fiction book and I imagine most readers of science fiction, like me, are fans of transhumanism in its most basic form at least like with the wheelchairs and reading glasses today.
if you like science fiction I strongly recommend not wasting a credit on this book or series.

Historia
Eight-year-old orphan Beth Harmon is quiet, sullen, and by all appearances unremarkable. That is, until she plays her first game of chess. Her senses grow sharper, her thinking clearer, and for the first time in her life she feels herself fully in control. By the age of 16, she's competing for the US Open championship. But as Beth hones her skills on the professional circuit, the stakes get higher, her isolation grows more frightening, and the thought of escape becomes all the more tempting.

Great.
Revisado: 12-22-20
I dont really have the words to express how good this book was. From the exemplary writing to the simplified and easily understood chess annotations and their weighted tension's, this book was stellar. Give it a shot if anything at all about it piques any interest within you. Gr
