I’ve listened to these stories 4 times each now over time and enjoy them the same way I did the first time years ago. The narrator is an easy listen, bring the characters to life with both subtly and excitement. Highly enjoyable and I highly recommend you give it a listen even if you are unfamiliar with the Game of Thrones universe. Apparently a TV series is going to be created soon as of 2023, but we’ll have to see about that.

The premise seemed to be on point, but the author leaves out the unstated obvious; predictable yet inevitable human stupidity. What the author claims as inevitable collapse is discussed using what seems at first good solid logical steps based on his world views. Sadly and to the detriment of my patience he cannot help but throw his own political views into the mix and thereby clouding his direction. It is specifically because of this urge to include this that draws focus to what he barely gives a passing mention of yet is being played out In reality as we speak. Utter Human stupidity, greed and desire of power; the very pitfalls of human nature is what will destroy our social fabric. Yet in listening to what is said, it seems we are bound to the inevitable not by choice but simply because of the way the world has been set up over the last two hundred years. That’s a very fatalistic and left leaning point of view. Not my cup of tea.

Always well researched

Isaac has once again gone deep into a subject not often talked about with both feet and a wealth of research under both arms. He reads very well and it is always refreshing to hear an author read his own work. Highly recommended.

An absolute masterfully account of battle

Impossible to stop listening to. Relentless in its retelling of a battle just as relentless in its cacophony of horror, bloodshed, valiant heroism, and absolute confusion of the U.S. marines who withstood the Japanese onslaught and dooming the Empire of the Sun. The narrator ratio is very easy to listen to with a tone that holds your attention to the end. Highly recommended.

100% MacDonald

I realize the tile is misleading since it is written and read by Norm MacDonald after all. I am biased in my review because I have become a fan of Norm over the last few months and this book really encompasses the essence that is Norm. His reading is on par; easy to listen to. The 7 hours goes by very fast. The stories he tells are wonderfully dry and funny. Great listen.

Whethet you believe or not, this book will keep you wanting to hear it to the end. Ive never heard or read any other books by the authors, but after this, i will.
