Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

EXCELLENT!
Revisado: 05-24-24
It is hard for me to give a five star review. It is hard for me to find a book and genres that I enjoy that is not full of sex or curse words. I do not enjoy reading that content. Although there was a few curse words in this book and a little bit of romance I did not DNF it like I normally would. It did not have a ton of cursing and the story was warm and heart-wrenching and devastating, and redeeming. It was everything. I listened to the last few chapters while cutting grass today, and I had to pause a minute to wipe tears. It hit the heartstrings beautifully.

I wouldn’t be able to put into words how much I loved this book. I’ve listened and read it several times and I love more and more each time. It’s hope, love, heartbreak, healing, redemption, and puts into perspective what having faith and being Christ like is all about.

Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

Frederick Beckman, BRAVO!
Revisado: 07-25-22
Mr. Beckman has yet to disappoint me. I am a mood reader/listener. Like many other readers I have several books going at a time depending on my day. Every now and then I come across a title that keeps me engaged and fits the mood entirely. I’ve has stollen my heart.
My only complaint about the book is that it needn’t have any fowl language at all. Although it wasn’t abused or used often, I wish there was none. Otherwise, it was a sweet, heartwarming, wonderful read. I love Ove. 💙
