Historia
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

Great Read

I love the character definition as I could practically see each one. The narration is amazing, along with the storyline. Her books never disappoint, in my opinion, due to how well they flow. I highly recommend this book.

Well done.

It just bothered me that Sarah's part in the story was written in 1789 and continually referenced going to Ohio. Ohio was not a state until March 1st 1803. Until that time, this area was referred to as The Northwest Territory, and not Ohio.
Other than that, I very much enjoyed this book. Great narration, Mr. Grifasi!

One of the greatest narration I've heard in a while. Love the story and characters were very well described.

The story is very good, however way too much information is given in the summary of this story. Before opening the book, we know the mother dies and later the father also dies. This would have been nice to learn as we read. For these reasons, I found it predictable, at no fault of the author.

Historia
Being married to Blake had been an amazing adventure for Maxine. For five years, they've worked out an odd but amicable divorce, with friendly though infrequent visits, a yacht he lends her every summer, and three children they both adore. Now Maxine has fallen in love with Dr. Charles West, a man who is everything Blake is not - mature, grounded, and present. But Blake wants her back in his life.

Loved the storyline but...

Did anyone else get tired of Daphne getting away with acting like a spoiled brat over and over? And the only solution seemed to be "she just needs more time". (Other than the beer incident). Other than that, I enjoyed the read.
