Another book about being controlling and setting passive aggressive boundaries.

"Every time he asked his wife what was wrong, listened for hours, and offered advice, he was actually reinforcing a behavior pattern he found undesirable" -No more Mr. Nice Guy
The advice given by the author was to ignore the undesirable behavior but then he followed it up with the rest of the story “the guy checked in with his wife the next day and asked how things panned out". His advice only worked in that one specific situation where the person's wife didn't feel isolated and needed alone time to sort out a problem and then it also only worked because he emotionally connected when he had the bandwidth 👀🤯
Anyone following the original advice about ignoring unwanted behaviors has the propensity to be abusive.

Why do some children thrive and others struggle? The answers may surprise you. New research indicates that the seeds for adult success are actually planted in the toddler years. Dr. Tovah Klein's research and firsthand work with thousands of toddlers explains why the toddler brain is best suited to laying the foundation for success. Dr. Klein reveals the new science behind drivers such as resilience, self-reliance, self-regulation, and empathy that are more critical to success than simple intelligence.

Important for Toddler Parents

This book has help explained my toddlers' point of view to me. Now I can breathe and realize that a lot of what my child is going through is normal behavior. I love that this book explained brain development.

Interesting, entertaining, and vividly candid
Revisado: 02-24-18
This was an autobiography of Astronaut Scott Kelly’s life and missions to space. I absolutely the way he described his experiences in an interesting, entertaining, amusing, and vividly candid way.
My favorite part of the book was his story about how reading a book fueled his desire to become an astronaut (and write this book).
I enjoyed his descriptions of the day to day things (and the singular things) he experienced on the International Space Station. “It is an impressive feat of engineering and a testament of human ability to work together to solve problems.” I appreciate his optimism and hope that mankind will set out for Mars.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

I loved this book (although I wouldn't recommend it to my paren s because of language)! I enjoyed the honest and open dialogue about taking responsibility for my own actions and emotions and the importance of perspective: life is impermanent.

Useful for understanding and helping my toddler
Revisado: 11-05-16
The information in this books is very applicable. It is explained in simple, easy to remember terms and includes strategies with examples. This book will be a great resource for many years to come. I didn't like one of the narrators and had a difficult time listening because she paused every 5 syllables as she was reading.
