I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. The narrator was great and the story is u forgettable.

Historia
The attacks of September 11, 2001, prompted the creation of a robust and deadly special operations force—Task Force Dagger. Alan C. Mack, Callsign Razor 03, led a team of MH-47E helicopters and armed MH-60s. Their two-fold mission–Personnel Recovery (PR) and Unconventional Warfare (UW) involved flying in terrain and weather previously not thought possible. If that wasn’t enough, they pushed the flight envelope of their specially modified Chinooks to the limit and beyond.

A true Warrior that dedicated his life to the protection of our Nation!
Revisado: 05-20-24
A story that needed to be told. The average person can’t understand the sacrifices that soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines make for our great country. Many of them wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
This story is about one of those great warriors and the sacrifices made, both on and off of the battlefield.
I highly recommend this book!

Historia
"America had a secret weapon," writes Steve Call of the period immediately following September 11, 2001, as planners contemplated the invasion of Afghanistan. This weapon consisted of small teams of Special Forces operatives trained in close air support (CAS) who, in cooperation with the loose federation of Afghan rebels opposed to the Taliban regime, soon began achieving impressive - and unexpected - military victories over Taliban forces and the al-Qaeda terrorists they had sponsored....

Great Story; Clinical Presentation
Revisado: 05-28-23
Great story. The writing lacked a bit of polish, but very interesting and well done.
The actually audio presentation has a couple of repeated sections and several blank sections. If these were redacted sections, there should be a beep or something to let the user know that it’s not simply poor production quality.
The speaker lacked any sort of enthusiasm. Reminds me of the teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Given all of this, it’s still worth getting and listening to as the subject matter Carrie’s the book.

Historia
In this book, Amy Webb reveals the pervasive, invisible ways in which the foundations of AI - the people working on the system, their motivations, the technology itself - is broken. Within our lifetimes, AI will, by design, begin to behave unpredictably, thinking and acting in ways which defy human logic. The big nine corporations may be inadvertently building and enabling vast arrays of intelligent systems that don't share our motivations, desires, or hopes for the future of humanity.

Biased Author
Revisado: 05-13-23
The book started off well. It was very interesting. I noticed early on in the book that the author was biased. I recommend that if you do choose to listen to this, listen to it with a critical ear.
She obviously is from the left, and she pushes that agenda.
Listen to the credits at the end and see if anything jumps out at you.
The last sections of the book are pure fiction. It’s what she sees as possible outcomes. She presents these from a very narrow viewpoint.
Listener beware!
The performance of the book was outstanding!

Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

Unexpectedly a Great Book
Revisado: 08-12-22
I bought this book from a recommendation of a friend. After I started listening to it and realized what it was, I didn’t think that I would like it. I was wrong. I loved the book.
I do so much appreciate it when the author takes the time to read their own book.

Every leader must be ready and willing to take charge, to make hard, crucial calls for the good of the team and the mission. Something much more difficult to understand is that in order to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. This is a dichotomy - a Dichotomy of Leadership. It is, as authors Jocko Willink and Leif Babin explained in their best-selling first audiobook, Extreme Ownership, “Simple, Not Easy”.

I decided to listen to this because Alan Alda was the narrator. I’m glad that I did because it’s an excellent series that covers a previously unknown to me part of history.
