Historia
Three years after news of her scandalous husband’s death, Adelaide Fiske is at the altar again, her groom a soldier on the Marquis of Wellington’s staff. The prospects seem bright for one of the most notorious women in Kent—until Jane Austen discovers a corpse on the ancient Pilgrim’s Way that runs through her brother Edward’s estate. As First Magistrate for Canterbury, Edward is forced to investigate, with Jane as his reluctant assistant. But she rises to the challenge and leaves no stone unturned, discovering mysteries deeper than she could have anticipated.

Engaging and creative
Revisado: 01-11-25
Incredibly well-written, weaving together a complex tangle of mysteries with a literary classic. Every book in this series is enjoyable and entertaining, but this story I found to be beyond clever.

A must for Christmas mystery lovers
Revisado: 11-30-24
The story is a fun mystery, yet also keeps the tradition of early 19th century Hampshire Christmas and 12th night celebrations alive. The reader does a fine job of bringing the story to life. I start each season not with a movie, but with this cozy murder mystery.

Historia
All My Knotted-Up Life is a beautifully crafted portrait of resilience and survival, a poignant reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, and proof positive that if we ever truly took the time to hear people’s full stories . . . we’d all walk around slack-jawed.

A brave story that hits all the feels!
Revisado: 07-23-24
It’s been a while since I read/listened to a book in a single day. Beth is at her most vulnerable and honest in this memoir. I wept, laughed, and related to the telling in ways I wasn't expecting. A must-read for anyone who has ever done a study or attended one of her events, and a worthwhile read for those who haven't.

The beloved star of Friends takes us behind the scenes of the hit sitcom and his struggles with addiction in this candid, funny, and revelatory memoir that delivers a powerful message of hope and persistence. In an extraordinary story that only he could tell, Matthew Perry takes listeners onto the soundstage of the most successful sitcom of all time while opening up about his private struggles with addiction. Candid, self-aware, and told with his trademark humor, Perry vividly details his lifelong battle with the disease and what fueled it despite seemingly having it all.

Matthew’s vulnerability is even more powerful than his humor - which says a lot if you grew up watching Chandler Bing.
Revisado: 01-20-24
I read the first half of this book while Matthew was on the mend; the second half after I heard of his death. If you struggle with this disease or know someone who does, it’s well worth a listen. He’s candid with his struggles, which are horrific, then throws in some of his signature humor, catching you off guard and making you guffaw. But, then he quickly soldiers on. To me, it felt like he had to get this beautiful, terrible piece written before time ran out. He wanted so much to be known for something other than “Friends”, and this book could do it. His pain revealed, like his humor before, will help many for years to come.
