Historia
Compiled by intrepid journalist Neve Pride, this archive of recordings spans the months after dragons emerged on earth, chronicling the communities that sprang up amid the destruction, the scientists, military leaders, and experts searching for a defense, and those steadfastly seeking the missing. Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

Woke trash
Revisado: 04-30-25
The only authentic character was Epps. I could not wait for everyone else to meet their fate.
And for crying out loud, will the despicable, child-abandoning skank of a narrator get eaten by a dragon?

Historia
Springerville is famous for the legend of the Mongolian Monster. Of course nobody really believes it. It’s just a good campfire story, something to attract gullible tourists until an excavation team unearths the figurine of a screaming woman, the jawbone of a deformed animal, and a child’s toy. How odd that they were buried together. Odd, too, is the foul odor lingering in the air, the strange noises at night, and the man’s face found hanging from a tree. Now the locals are locking their doors. Because after sundown, campfire stories can seem very, very real.

If listening to a decent premise for a story descend into a disjointed fuster cluck is your bag, then this one is for you.

Historia
John Hawkins is counting down his last days as chief of police on the Lone Crow Reservation in the lonely, frigid woods of the Yukon. But when a faceless body with mysterious wounds washes up on the shores of the Porcupine River, he’s pulled deeper in than ever before. Hawkins and coroner Jacob Littlecorn suspect the disfigured body is that of theoretical physicist Graham Raphelson, also known as the “molecular madman of Trinity College”, who recently disappeared.

Good premise, but meh.

I really wanted to like this book. It started well, and teased great things but ultimately did not deliver. Fewer detailed descriptions of insects and a main character’s…change would have yielded a far better story.

Would you try another book from Brian Keene and/or Chet Williamson?
No, I would not.
What could Brian Keene have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
It could not suck, for starters.
What didn’t you like about Chet Williamson’s performance?
He was pretty snotty.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Ghost Walk?
Almost all of them.
Any additional comments?
Nope.
