Historia
Awaiting the return of her husband and young son from a road trip, Obiajulu Ejiofor receives shattering news. There’s been a fatal car crash, and one of them is dead. In Where the Children Take Us, Obiajulu’s daughter, Zain E. Asher, tells the story of her mother’s harrowing fight to raise four children as a widowed immigrant in South London. There is tragedy in this tale, but it is not a tragedy. Drawing on tough-love parenting strategies, Obiajulu teaches her sons and daughters to overcome the daily pressures of poverty, crime and prejudice—and much more.

I cannot begin to describe the different emotions I felt reading this book. Remi, you brought so much life to my heart by sharing your story and brilliantly detailing each aspect of your journey. I appreciate the work God has done in your life and the gift He placed upon you to share this with the world.
I love your story. I love this book and I especially love the reminder that God truly exists and walks with us even when we don’t think we need him. I can’t wait to share this with my daughter 🙏🏾

I absolutely loved reading this book. I like how her advice to solving our do you struggle of financial liberation is very simple, elementary, and practical. The exercises are not impossible to perform. I will definitely read this book again I'll get it yet purchased a hardcopy. I have it in Audible, Kindle so why not complete the cycle and get a hardcopy?

Truly deep and very well rounded
Revisado: 04-28-16
I have not read a book that has been so well detailed and exact about the various emotions you feel as an African immigrant. To conform or not to conform, to adapt to your new environment, friends and life while staying true to your original culture and life (whatever that means). Our views are transformed and our perspectives are adjusted based on our current situations but that never means we are any different from who we "truly" are. He romance between Ifemelu and Obinze was a very warm and welcome twist. Aggravating at some point but practical.
I love this book. A lot. I first got the copy on audible but now I have both Kindle and Hardcopy. I think we should all read this book, African or not. Well done Chimamanda. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
