Historia
The West has been devastated by epidemics, bio-terrorism, war, and famine. Asia has shut its borders to keep the threats at bay, and some with power and influence have already abandoned Earth. Now an escape route a century in the making - the Nomad mission - finally offers hope to a small town and a secret research centre hidden in a rural American backwater. Shrouded in lies and concealed even from the research centre's staff, Nomad is about to fulfil its long-dead founder's vision of preserving the best of humanity to forge a new future. But who decides who's worthy?

Revisado: 08-01-24
This book is great. very enjoyable. the problem is, there's no second book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The epilogue set up an amazing possibility for the rest of the series and were left hanging.

Historia
Eat Pray Love meets American Psycho in a seductive and sinister debut literary thriller. Food critic Dorothy Daniels indulges in her homicidal urges by murdering her lovers and devouring their organs in this intense, visceral, and lushly told tale of food, sex, power, and the pursuit of a very particular taste set between New York and Italy. Please Note: A Certain Hunger contains adult language and depictions of violence. Discretion is advised.

good book geared for women
Revisado: 09-27-22
it's a really well written book. As a guy, I'm gonna be honest, it was too erotic for me. but minus he very detailed parts about felatio and sex, it was a very enjoyable book and something I would definitely recommend to a woman or a guy if I knew they liked to read about that kind of stuff in detail from a woman's perspective.

Doesn't matter if you're on the right or left; this book is a must read. if you're curious about US-Chinese relationship over the past few years. Fascinating, terrifying, and awakening. This book should be on everyone's to-read list.

so much potential, but executed poorly
Revisado: 11-20-20
To the author: Stop continuously summarizing what has happened twelve times every book. its infuriating. I dont need everything rehashed constantly. its clearly just filler to get your word count up but it legitimately makes me want to quit reading the series. also by the end of book 4, its getting stale. The super simple formulaic structure of the books is enraging. with such a fun, interesting story, theres no reason for it to be getting this stale, this fast. It feels like the author is churning these books out every couple of months instead of refining and delivering a quality product. im going to read 5 and hope that it changes but im pretty sure i know what the story of 5 will be.

not worth it. look elsewhere
Revisado: 09-08-20
had no idea the book was all about one guy and his military life. it was ok, I guess, but the book dragged like crazy. I lost count with how many times I said to myself, "Get on with it already!" out of pure frustration. frankly I struggled for 75% of this book to not just delete it and move on. I've read hundreds of history books and this book was certainly designed with the widest audience possible in mind. I wanted to like it, but I've never experienced forcing myself through an audio book to the point of sheer excitement when it was finally over. I'm glad it is, but I also bought her book, Area 51, and I'm having severe doubts if I'll ever read it after this book.
