Historia
Henry Winkler, launched into prominence as “The Fonz” in the beloved Happy Days, has transcended the role that made him who he is. Brilliant, funny, and widely regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood (though he would be the first to tell you that it’s simply not the case, he’s really just grateful to be here), Henry shares in this achingly vulnerable memoir the disheartening truth of his childhood, the difficulties of a life with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role that takes on a life of its own, and the path forward once your wildest dream seems behind you.

This book delves into UFO cases, both known and unknown, that gripped the curiosity of many ufologists, authors, researchers, and experiencers worldwide within our field and tugged their interest and fascination. Often screaming and shouting into the realms of high strangeness and the unexplained, they explain in detail either the UFO case or sighting or experience that started them off on their own ufological journey.

Historia
When Rosamond Halsey Carr first arrived in Africa, she didn't realize that she would spend the rest of her life there. As a young fashion illustrator living in New York City in the 1940s, she seemed the least likely candidate for such a life of adventure. But marriage to a hunter-explorer took her to what was then the Belgian Congo, and divorce left her determined to stay on in neighboring Rwanda as the manager of a flower plantation.

Historia
“I now pronounce you husband and wife.” There are few phrases as sobering, with the possible exceptions of “We have lift-off” and “This country is at war.” Yet, as they have done for centuries, millions of courageous men and women continue to walk down the aisle every year, without so much as a job description. Now, in her most autobiographical book, Erma Bombeck puts it all in loving and laughing perspective, as she looks back on her own forty-three-year-but-who’s-counting marriage.

When I first read it years ago & now when I just finished listening. Erma Bombeck never got kudos for how inciteful her humor is even today. She was a truly liberated woman before the movement even began.

Historia
At first glance, Josh Hanagarne seems an improbable librarian. He stands 6'7", competes in strongman contests, and was diagnosed in high school with Tourette's syndrome. But books are his first love - Josh's earliest memories involve fantastic adventures between the pages of Gulliver’s Travels and a passionate infatuation with Fern from Charlotte’s Web. Everything in Josh’s life - from his Mormon upbringing, to finally finding love, to learning to control his tics through lifting - circles back to a close connection with books.

Enjoyable for King Fans
Revisado: 05-23-20
Enjoyed the fact there was less blood & guts, more story to these novellas. Liked them all. Interesting King’s dislike (hatred) of Trump) or Republicans in general made it’s usual appearance, but good stories & excellent narrators.

Historia
Hadley Freeman knew her grandmother, Sara, lived in France just as Hitler started to gain power, but rarely did anyone in her family talk about it. Long after her grandmother’s death, she found a shoebox tucked in the closet containing photographs of her grandmother with a mysterious stranger, a cryptic telegram from the Red Cross, and a drawing signed by Picasso. This discovery sent Freeman on a decade-long quest to uncover the significance of these keepsakes, taking her from Picasso’s archives in Paris to a secret room in a farmhouse in Auvergne to Long Island to Auschwitz.

Different Book Than I Thought
Revisado: 04-26-20
Thought I was going to get a history of a Jewish family who suffered at the hands of the Germans, and in the beginning of the book I did. First few chapters were wonderful, then somewhere near the middle this became a litany of how this family was abused when they came to the U.S. And how Trump, who was not even a demon in training at the time, became the scapegoat for the author's family's abuse I have yet to figure out.
I wanted to finish the book, but couldn't wade through the politics. The story started in Poland, and from the prologue assumed it ended up in France and the US, neither country was given any credit for providing some kind of sanctuary albeit not very good in the author's opinion.
Wanted uplifting, but as an American, I felt this author wanted me to to feel ashamed of my country (which I assume is now hers too).
To end on a positive note, the author is a very good writer, her family came to life for me in the first part of the book. This should have been the politics category.
