The ratings and views are off the chart. The fans just can't get enough. The dungeon gets more dangerous each day. But in a grinder designed to chew up and spit out crawlers by the millions, Carl and Princess Donut need to work harder than ever just to survive. They call it the Over City. A sprawling, once-thriving metropolis devastated by a mysterious calamity. But these streets are far from abandoned. An undead circus trawls the ruins. Murdered prostitutes rain from the sky. An ancient spell is finally ready to reveal its dark purpose.

Love the Characters and the intricately woven storyline. Played WOW for a decade, very relatable but different enough to be interesting. The bounce between dungeon and "real life" is refreshing and fun. Hope we see "Pig Boy" and watch him squeel!

A contemporary air-sea heavyweight fight...the like we haven't seen since the Pacific War. A routine US Navy freedom-of-navigation patrol in the South China sea turns deadly when it encounters a covert - and unauthorized - Chinese plot to lay claim to waters of the South China Sea. Misunderstanding, miscalculation, and fear lead to both sides mobilizing, with the United States moving west across the Pacific to meet and engage the People's Liberation Army (Navy) who waits with modern weaponry and determined purpose.

The lesson we should all know in our hearts.
Revisado: 08-12-24
The lesson we should all know in our hearts, China never has nor ever will be anything but our adversary, be it socially, tactically or militarily. We may trade with them but only to their advantage. This book is not a fiction, but a accurate prediction of future Chinese intent. Enjoy the book but heed it's warning.
Solid, accurate depictions of modern combat, Believable characters and motivations.Enjoyed it. Narrator did a good job with characters. Can't Wait for the next one.

The author's obvious distaste and irritation at all things. Mail is relatively easily discerned in the first chapter but I tried to keep going. I couldn't do it I didn't get an hour in before I gave up

I hope the series holds up to this standard.
Revisado: 09-29-22
While we'll paced, it seems sometimes the Narrator or the editor rushed the pacing. One second we are 15 hours away from contact, and the next (poorly paced) sentence they are in contact. You need more space between such sentences and concepts. it is jarring and breaks the immersion when you are confused by what should simple content.
Otherwise Story and Narration were well done.

While someone entertaining I don't believe this really even belongs in this series it was nice it was nice but yeah no, The tie in seemed like an afterthought and getting left in a lurch with the new talent as the last line was less than stellar.. There is a difference between leaving me wanting more and leaving me hanging sadly this book is in the latter category. This author can and has done better he missed the mark.

1st and 2nd chapter nearly made me return the book
Revisado: 07-26-22
While I understand there's a need to build back story for a series the 1st and 2nd chapter were was so slow and so boring I almost returned this book.
If the author used the term "in occupied space" or bragged about how the black eagles were the deadliest and most proficient mercenaries one more time I thought I was going to vomit.
Many times the author repeated information it seems for no good reason except maybe word count. Plot was predictable as were the characters.
Plot jumped around so much I got lost and had to back it up.
The exchange between brothers in the conference room was utter rubbish. Nobody let's someone Blather on through a 3 minute diatribe only to turn around and spew one back. Nobody talks like that. It reminded me of two poly sci students who got trapped in a debate club meeting. "Your 2 minutes are up, your opponent now has 2 min" I was so happy to have Mom come in and shut them the hell up.
You don't have to tell me they are speaking angrily every other paragraph, a good Narrator (and Rick Partlow is that and then some) will handle that FOR you.
Battle sceens were not fleshed out well, I couldn't begin to get into the fight since they only superficially describe most scenes.
Truly hope later books are better or this series is not long for my want list.
