Historia
After a divorce and a thousand-mile move, Dr. Sloan Copeland and her twin daughters are finally getting the hang of their life in Los Angeles. When their live-in nanny bails with no warning, Sloan is left scrambling to find a competent caretaker to wrangle her smart, sensitive girls. Nothing less will do. Enter Rafe Whitcomb. He's all of those things, not to mention good-natured and one heck of a whiz in the kitchen. It doesn't take long for the Copelands to invite Rafe into their home, and just as quickly, both Sloan and Rafe find themselves succumbing to a heady mutual attraction.

A little slow getting running, then it takes off
Revisado: 03-04-18
Summary: This is a fun series, no sex, silly cursing, some violence.
The author really wants you to understand the setup and I was pretty tired of hearing the phrase "honored debt" in the first part. But the background gets presented and then the story takes off.
This story is pure heroic fantasy. The good guys are all honest to goodness, white hat wearing heroes. This is the kind of story that is the reading equivalent of popcorn. Fun to read with plenty of good people to cheer about. (and villains to boo) No angsty romance or brooding heroes with a dark past.
The end of the book has comments by both the author and the narrator which I really liked. It was fun to hear the parts of the story that the narrator liked the best.
These books are shorter than the ones that I have recently listened to and there are a lot of them. Still, I expect to burn a bunch of credits on these.

Sweet romance between two good people
Revisado: 11-12-16
Imagine two people who have never met until the day of their arranged marriage. They are both people with good hearts who want to do their best in this situation for their respective king and country. This story takes off with that idea and runs with it. The two become friends and eventually lovers. There are details like assassination and kidnapping attempts, attempts and a mother in law that makes Maleficent look like Mother Teresa. The narrator either has or uses an accent in her basic narration that fits the story beautifully. Definitely a story I will listen to again.

Story of Addolgar and Braith in early days
Revisado: 11-07-16
This story fills in some of the early days of the main story line. As usual for these stories, the dragons are conceited, arrogant and really funny. Some other reviewers have said the narrator's is way too light and cheerful for this story, but I found that after a bit, the narrator was skillful enough for me to become totally immersed in the story.

Solid Science Fiction with Solid Narration
Revisado: 10-28-16
Many stories depend on characters not knowing critical information to create tension, angst, whatever. This story and the following books in the series use this technique extensively. Almost to excess with a couple of spots where it was hard to believe that a character didn't know/didn't tell/didn't ask. However the end result is the kind of story that kept me awake until 4 in the morning to finish.

Historia
The exciting sequel to Good Intentions! Alex Carlisle has enough to deal with even on quiet days. Living with an angel and a succubus is no easy feat. One has divine responsibilities she can't explain, and the other tempts him toward a decadent lifestyle he's not sure he can manage. Add to that the stresses of college and trying to hold down a job, and it's lucky Alex can even keep his head on straight.

Still Sexy, Still a Solid Story
Revisado: 09-29-15
Alex and friends are still battling Evil (with a capital E) and now have an FBI "Special Unit" after them. Not only direct threats but now we see a threat of betrayal by one of their own. Things that were hinted at in the first book become solid plot elements. Alex and Lorelei's "flash backs" give the author a chance to flex his story telling muscles in other worlds. The angel politics are still entertaining. Even with all the people out to get our heroes, they still manage to get in sexy times. And Tess Irondale's voice acting was first rate and added a lot to the story.

Historia
He knew it was a dumb stunt from the start. A midnight run through a cemetery to impress a couple of girls isn't the stuff of legend, but Alex Carlisle longs to escape the crushing mediocrity of life after high school. Then, he stumbles upon the ritual, the cultists, and two bound and bloodied women. Alex intervenes, and the ritual blows up in his face, leaving him bound to them both: Rachel and Lorelei, an angel and a succubus.

Sexy and Solid Story
Revisado: 09-29-15
At its core, it is a guy fantasy story. The hero is a really good guy and in this story, the good guy wins - even if a little worse for wear at times. He is surrounded by good friends (the "help you move bodies" kind of friend). Some of these friends are "beautiful women friends with benefits" and he has a pair of serious loves. The story has no shortage of sexy parts, but there is a story here. The author has a long term plot and coming back to this book after listening to the second, I can see where he is laying down clues for things you will really find out in the second book. The characters are done well enough that I cared about them. The book was a bit heavy at times on "relationship discussions". (The hero has a tough time believing that he is worth what he has) The voice acting by Tess Irondale was first rate. It was a step up above just narration and several instances she was definitely acting. All and all a very nice story that I can see listening to another time or two.

Young woman finds her place in the world.
Revisado: 04-06-13
Story starts out fairly violent and cruises for a while working on the relationship of the heroine (and make no mistake, she is a heroine, not a damsel in distress) with her new husband and new clan. The characters in the story were well done. The narration really drew me into the story and made it real. Kristen Potter had great accents for the characters and she did a very good job with male voices. The end of the story ends with some suspense and action that was fine, but sort of gilding the lily on this great listen.

Bahzell Bahnakson of the Horse Stealer hradani had never wanted to be the champion of the War God. Unfortunately, the War God had insisted. Which was how he had found himself among hostile strangers in the Empire of the Axe - except that that was only the least of his problems. For a start, there was the Order of Tomanak, who were horrified that their deity had chosen a hradani as champion, and were resolved to rectify the matter in a most unpleasant fashion.

One of the best sword and sorcery tales around.
Revisado: 10-20-12
David Weber is one of my absolute favorite authors and this series is an example why.
This is a great story made truly outstanding by the fantastic narration by Nick Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan goes beyond mere narration into voice acting, going so far as to use different geographical accents for characters from different parts of the story's world. This extra touch makes the story come to life for me.

Historia
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author G.A. Aiken is widely celebrated for her compelling Dragon Kin series. In The Dragon Who Loved Me, Rhona the Fearless, first daughter of a proud warrior family, resents that she’s not respected for her battle prowess by the male Northland dragons. But when one barbarian dragon becomes enamored with her, she begins to relish her influence over him.

Funny and sexy and dragons
Revisado: 10-20-12
Solid narration by Morgan Hallett. Definitely more enjoyable than reading - for me narration keeps me from skipping parts of the story and makes immersion in the story deeper. A nit pick was that some of her pauses seemed overly long.
This is not the first book in the series, Having read all the books, I was already familiar with the characters and their quirks, although GA Aiken does provide some description of the characters as they appear in the book. I hope they add the other books to the audio library. I would certainly purchase them. The main concept is that dragons in this world can morph into a human shape. And most humans don't know that.
The series is sort of a romance/comedy/fantasy action story. The "romance" and language is explicit at time - this is not a book for young readers.
The number one attraction for me of these stories is the humor. And I'm a sucker for romances with happy endings.
