John Perry’s insights and laugh-out-loud humor bring to mind Thurber, Wodehouse, and Harry Frankfurt’s On Bullshit. This charming and accessible audio educates, entertains, and illuminates a universal subject. Procrastinators will be relieved to learn that you can actually accomplish quite a lot while procrastinating. In fact, the book itself is the result of Perry avoiding grading papers, refereeing academic proposals, and reviewing dissertation drafts. It also has a practical side, offering up advice that listeners can put to use.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone who has lots of time to waste or better yet someone who decides to procrastinate and doesn't listen to this book.
Would you ever listen to anything by John Perry again?
No, I would rather have a root canal.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He had a sort of glib tone and it was ridiculous since any intended "humor" in the book was corny and silly.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Art of Procrastination?
Unfortunately, you can't burn a digital book.
Any additional comments?
At 8 dollars, it's overpriced... If it was free it would be overpriced. Procrastinate and don't waste your time or money on this garbage.

Believe me, I tried," writes Wolff. And so from early childhood on, her father began his crusade to make his white daughter down.

Would you consider the audio edition of I'm Down to be better than the print version?
Not having read the print version, I can't say.
What other book might you compare I'm Down to and why?

The book is composed of lots of short scenes. Any scene with her father in it was tense and interesting.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book was moving. It is funny at times and at times gut wrenching. Some of the one liners are very amusing.

The power of this book is it's honesty.

It could have been just any night, and they could have just been any two brothers - but it wasn't, and they weren't. The scene is an Atlanta bar. The music is loud and the dance floor is packed. The good-looking brother picks up a girl. But when dark deeds ensue out in the parking lot, what happens next can only be described in two words: vintage Slaughter. From the opening scene to the last line, "Thorn in My Side" is as wicked as it is entertaining.

What disappointed you about Thorn in My Side?
The story is just stupid.
Would you ever listen to anything by Karin Slaughter again?
Not if it isn't better than this.

Maybe.
