What an enthralling book. Some parts are downright disturbing, had to step away sometimes. wonderfully written-just makes you think about the horrible things that can happen in life.

Good ending to the series, bad narration
Revisado: 10-11-21
I think this was a great ending to the story. Brought the characters full circle. The narration made me hate the characters. Every sentence was much to dramatic. Sometimes you can just read a sentence without making it sound like the character is going to cry.

Historia
For Cassie and her Circle of witches, it's hard to imagine life in New Salem getting any worse. A band of powerful witch hunters is targeting the group, determined to destroy them one by one. And Cassie's half-sister, Scarlett, won't rest until she has a spot in the Circle - even if she has to kill Cassie to get it. The Circle's only hope against their enemies is Cassie's father's Book of Shadows - an ancient guide to the world of dark magic. But Cassie soon discovers that opening the book has grave consequences.

Bad
Revisado: 07-05-21
Again, these characters are nothing like LJ Smith's. This book has to be read as if the first books never existed. With that in mind, this book has a better story line than the first written by Aubrey Clark. The characters are extremely overdramatic and mostly unlikeable. Will finish the last book in the series but only to see how it all ends up. I'd recommend you not waste your time.

Does not follow the characters from the original
Revisado: 06-28-21
This book was a complete disappointment. I read the original series in high school and absolutely loved it, now that audible exists I thought I would go back and read the series again. I was super excited to find out that the series continued further than when I was in school. This book completely disregards the characters of the original series. I would say that this book matches up well with the CW TV series, so if you appreciated that, you may enjoy this story. As someone who loved the original books this was absolutely heartbreaking. Utter destruction of carefully crafted characters and relationships. I really wonder what LJ Smith thinks of her books' utter decimation in the hands of Aubrey Clark. I would not recommend this book it's basically like a fan fiction that you stop reading halfway through because the writer doesn't understand the characters.

Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

the narration makes me want to stop listening
Revisado: 10-18-20
the story is of course a classic- I loved it in school and still find it quite thought provoking. The narrator reads at such different volumes that makes it hard to listen. I have to keep my hand on the volume because he switches from whispering at an inaudible volume to shouting within seconds. It is so aggravating that I have thought of quitting the book several times. I wish they would just read the book, not make crazy voices that make it hard to understand what is being said.
