Historia
Humpback whales are among the most intelligent animals on Earth. Some scientists believe they might even surpass humans in self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills. In this episode, we swim with a whale as he teams up with other humpbacks to use bubbles to catch fish, rescues a sea lion, and puts his own spin on melodies sung by whales across the Pacific Ocean. This is the world in its natural state, defined by seasons, routines, and cycles. By the time this whale is ready to close one eye and go to sleep, you will be too.

Interesting and I fell asleep

Wonderful natural history!
Revisado: 04-17-25
The narrator pulled me right into the story. I felt like I was swimming with the whales as they threw their bubble net. The story was engrossing but I did fall asleep. I’ll have to start halfway through next time to hear the end of the story. Looking forward to listening to the rest of the stories in the series.

Great world building.

The author pulled me into the story with description of setting. Original cultural mores for characters and I really liked the narration.

Historia
Three years after her mother’s death, Ruth is finally sorting through her things when she finds a curious relic: a decades-old photograph of her own Norfolk cottage—before she lived there—with a peculiar inscription on the back. Ruth returns to the cottage to uncover its meaning as Norfolk’s first cases of Covid-19 make headlines, leaving her and Kate to shelter in place there. They struggle to stave off isolation by clapping for frontline workers each evening and befriending a kind neighbor, Zoe, from a distance.

First book I’ve read to use the Covid lockdown in the plot line. Well done! The reader’s narration makes all the characters stand out as individuals. Can’t wait for the next book!

Delightful!
Revisado: 10-21-21
Louise Penny is a favorite author so read this mostly because of her. But really enjoyed this book even though political thrillers aren’t my genre. Loved how the storyline tied into recent events! Looking forward to reading about further adventures with Madam Secretary.
