Just another win from one of my favorite authors. The narrator does a fantastic job as well.

Loved this book. It certainly started a little slow and took some very unexpected turns. Something brilliant about watching the transformation of reluctant wise old teacher and young bumbling student through “Tough Love” that would make a drill instructor proud. Thought the book went completely awry at one point but they brought it back. As I write this, I’ve just finished book 2 and purchased book 3. Love the series so far and its approach towards Magic, Wizards, Warlocks, and Sorcerers! Well written and well narrated. Kudos

It’s interesting that books not based on war, but commerce in space could be so enthralling. Love all the returning characters and the Naration continues to be superb. Haven’t found a book in the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper series that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Keep it up Nathan Lowell!!!

I’m glad to see more authors venturing in to the tabletop side of LitRPG. Nothing against video games, but I enjoy D&D like fantasy LitRPG. Dice rolls and Str, Dex, Wis, Int, Con, Cha style stat points. Probably don’t need to read the character sheet as often as they do. Thoroughly enjoyed the 4th wall breaking GM as a character. Hope more authors adapt to the tabletop resurgence. Narrator is fantastic as ever.

Mech combat with an interesting story line. A few recognizable mechs from the old popular mech series. Deals a fair amount with squad tactics. Story develops decently, narration is remarkable. Definitely worth one credit for the 3 audiobook set. If battletech were just a video game that you could “live” in.

I’m giving the series a second chance and loving it!! The first book was great! 2nd - 4th setup a lot of backstory as well as the MC’s romantic interest. Book 5 ends with a straight kick to the gut! Then this book keeps you guessing while enacting a great revenge fantasy! Who can you trust? Nobody!!! I hope number 7 brings it back around to good hero wins type follow on. This is one of the best examples of LITRPG/GAME-LIT, based on an MC who’s a crafter. The series really has no right to be this good with a Shaman/Jeweler as the MC. I think I stopped after book 3 or 4 last time, but the push through was so worth it. I also really enjoy the narrator!

I rather enjoyed the full cast audio production of Impact Winter. They did a quality job of turning an obvious us(humans)vs them (vampires) story from black and white to the muddy grey area where life really tends to exist. Villains become heroes, heroes appear to be villains and the real evil gets its proper comeuppance. Like the story, love the cast, wasn’t expecting much, but was eagerly surprised.

Excellent back story on Dark Knight station and some of the prominent historical figures from the High Line and the Toe Hold. I really enjoyed listening to Jeffrey Kafer narrate this origin story, after finishing all the other Golden Age of the Solar Clipper tales. Nathan Lowell’s well crafted lore around the realm of the solar clipper makes it one of my favorite fictional settings. I can’t wait to read/listen to more!!!!

I came upon the Shaman’s Tales series from all the other Golden Age of the Solar Clipper series. No spaceships, just regular ships, OK. Nathan Lowell is a brilliant writer and I find buying his audiobooks as a sound investment. Haven’t been disappointed yet! Not religious, who cares? I dare you not to like it. This is a coming of age tale where a boy/man might not find the path he was looking for, but his path might just find him. I’ve already listened to the next book in the series as I review this one and when I’m done typing , I’ll start the third. Author - Stupendous, Narrator - Amazing, Story - Superb!!! To think I first started listening to Nathan Lowell narrate his own Audiobooks for free. It took me a second to get to like Jeffrey Kafer because you never forget your first listen. Now I’ve grown up with Ishmael, Pip, Natalya, Zoya, Otto, and Sarah. Please Mr. Lowell keep writing masterpieces in this Golden Age!!!

This book in and of itself is amazing! I was already a huge fan of Nathan Lowell’s Golden Age of the Solar Clipper universe, the multiple series of which are all fantastic!!! Without giving anything away, this book establishes the history of Sarah Krugg, before her misadventures aboard the solar clipper Lois McKendrick (Traders Tales #2, Half Share). It also nicely follows Otto Krugg’s life from the previous book in the Shaman’s Tales series “South Coast”. What does the only daughter of the Shaman do when only first born sons are allowed to carry the title Shaman? This book takes a hard look at the damage induced by a Patriarchal society. Meanwhile weaving a tale of hope and strife on a girl trying to fit in, when she’s so obviously outstanding! As I’ve listened to all these series as audiobooks I have to congratulate Jeffrey Kafer on another fine performance. He is a delight to listen to! Nathan Lowell has a steadfast position in my top ten favorite authors. His character development leaves no room but to care about his characters as he deftly plucks your heartstrings like a well tuned symphony orchestra!!!
