First Timer
Revisado: 03-10-15
This was my first time ever reading/listening to this author and narrator. I hadn't even realized that this book was part of a series of books. It stood well on its own and I enjoyed it so much I had a hard time putting it down. I will definitely be reading/ listening to the rest of the Drake Sisters novels and any of Miss Feehan's other books as well. This was an excellent read!

My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me. So begins a tale told from his own point of view - a story unequaled in fantasy literature. Now in The Wise Man’s Fear, Day Two of The Kingkiller Chronicle, Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.

Extended Fantasy
Revisado: 01-06-14
I have yet to write my review of the first of these two books, but I will soon. This second book is just as good as the first only extended. In fact I was quite surprised to find out that it is about twice to three times longer than the first. Despite that though, it is a marvelous read and really holds your attention. Am going to have to research as I'm sure there is more coming just likely not published yet? Am eager to find out what happens to young Kvothe and his Denna and even Bast and Chronicller. Loved the character Tempe as well. :) A must read!

One Tiny Thing Bothered Me
Revisado: 04-27-13
Absolutely adored this book! It was true Nora Roberts in every aspect. You could really get into the characters and the plot and it was quite interesting to see where things went in this book. Only one tiny thing bothered me though. A slight grammatical error that kept popping up. Every time it was mentioned that one of the characters lit a cigarette, it was said, 'lighted'. Now in some instances saying that someone lighted a cigarette might be possible, however, my brain kept insisting that it should have been 'lit' instead of lighted. Since it seemed to be past tense. But I could be wrong. Grammar is not one of my strong suits. Not sure how it is written on the page, but this kept popping up and annoying me. Otherwise, true and classic Nora Roberts. A must listen!

Absolutely Wonderful!
Revisado: 02-24-13
I honestly don't agree with many of the other reviewers for this book. This book was a very good ending in the trilogy. I absolutely loved the feelings and sensations I got while listening to the book and the two before it. You can truly feel what the characters feel. Their conflicts of emotion and sense of duty. Their fear and trepidation yet desire so strong to keep an evil from harming others that their dedication to stopping it is beyond what I personally might have.
In this book I connected even more with the main characters than I did in the previous two. It was almost as if I was them and Dufris did an even better job in this book with his narration than he did in the other two.
Admittedly there were a few things that seemed to be left unsolved and I would have liked to known what happened between two of the characters. However, I'm wondering if this was deliberate and might transition into another trilogy that takes place further down the road in the timeline so to speak. I suppose we shall see.
I definitely reccomend that you give this book a try, especially if you want to find out what happens after reading the first two. It won't let you down. It didn't me. :)

The Story Continues
Revisado: 02-05-13
This book has always felt a little rushed for me, even when I held it in my hands and read it as well as previously listening to it. Still though, I love it, I have always loved the WoT series and I always will. This book does an excellent job of continuing the story of our main characters, though like I said, it seems a little rushed. Still it was awesome and already I am listening to the 7th book.
One thing that pleased me was that the interview with Jordan that had been done for the previous books, was not repeated at the end of this one. I had heard that same interview so many times with the last several books, that I knew it's contents as well as the books themselves, so it was good to not have that once more.
All in all, excellent read as Jordan is an excellent author. Definitely continuing my listening of his books.

Wonderful Descriptions!
Revisado: 02-05-13
In the first book there were a few things that confused me for awhile before I got further into it and finally understood things. Now in the second book, things seem to be getting even better. The more I listen to the words of the characters and the tones of voice that the narrator uses, the more and more I like it. The narrator and the author do a very good job of protraying that Har and Tear are really just kids, albiet nearly adult kids. The things they say and do, the way the complain or try and reason things out reminds me of the way I thought about and did things when I was their age. The author has captured well the thinking, logic, and everything else that perfectly describes and portrays children of this age. I do think it a little odd that they are thrust into such adult concerning adventures and the like, but I understand that this is part of the story, part of the world that was created for them and it fits.
One problem I have had both in the first book and in this one, is that it is difficult for me to tell precisely when the narrator is speaking and thinking as Har and when as Tear. It sounds to me as if sometimes the narrator uses the same voice for both characters and then suddenly realizes it and changes to fit the voices he has set originally for the characters. So often I will get confused as to which one is talking or thinking until a name is actually mentioned. The narrator does do a wonderful job though of voices for the other characters. Those voices are quite distinct.
The other thing I have noticed in this book and not quite so much in the first one, is that this one, the descriptions seem much more vivid. The fighting scenes are so well described, and the feelings each character faces equally well described, makes you see and feel everything the character is feeling. You start to sympathize with them and you want to comfort them or fight along side them, or even go so far as to feel as if you might feel the same way were you thrust into the situation.
Now perhaps, though I'd have to listen to it again, this is the same in the first book and I just did not notice it because I was too busy trying to figure out what was going on and what certain words meant. But, I am enjoying these books and I look forward to listening to the third. I am anxious to see what the conclusion to the story is.

Captivating
Revisado: 01-26-13
As I have said in other reviews, when you observe things in different ways, you gain different perspectives and pick up on things that you likely didn't before. I physically read this book many years ago and enjoyed it quite completely then. And when the movie came out, both parts, and things had been shifted just a bit to make the movie more entertaining, I noticed things that I had not upon my first reading of the book. And now, having listened to it, another new perspective has been gained, and just as in the book and in the movies, the listening of it has captivated me and entertained me beyond imagination.
Were it the book in my hand, I would not be able to put it down, just as I was unable to put the book down back in the day when I first read it. A must read that will keep you captivated throughout it.

Seriously In Love with Robert's Work
Revisado: 01-26-13
This is the third book of Robert's that I have listened to thus far and I am falling head over heels in love with this author and her work. The stories she writes continue to amaze, inspire, enthrall, captivate and every other possible word out there. I have added many of her other books to my wish list and look forward to listening to those as well when money and or credits permit the purchase of them.
I do notice though, this being the third book of hers that I've listened to, that of these three, all of them have very strong male and female characters coming together. Which is nice, it gives the reader/listener, something to dream about and hope for.
Though I can't help but wonder, what if one of her main characters was weak. Not necessarily in physical strength, but otherwise. Perhaps someone who is indecisive, more introverted, or even a bit of a recluse. What kind of story would that make? And what about a different twist to the plot. Instead of the male 'saving' the female, what if it were the other way around? Or what if the male was the weaker of the two and the female the 'heroine' of sorts? Perhaps though, this is not the way that Roberts writes. I do not know, though it is interesting to ponder.
Regardless, I highly recommend this book and others of hers. I intend to listen to more of her books in the future. The classic tale she tells and spins out in a variety of ways, does not get old and will forever remain a classic in the heart of all women.

Slow to start but highly entertaining!
Revisado: 01-26-13
I have read this author before, many of her past books, but never had I read this particular trilogy. In fact, I had asked for it for Christmas one year, got it, and still had not read it. Physical reading has become difficult for me as it puts me to sleep these days. Which is why now I listen to books instead of read them.
Anyway, this was a very well written book. It seemed to start off a little slow for me. Likely due to the length of time in between my listening of this and my reading of past books. I got hung up on such words as bells and sennites and moonturns, not really figuring out how these things marked time until further into the book. But as I said, it's been a very long while since I last read this author.
At first, the book felt a bit juvenile, though that was nice in that it brought back memories of when I was younger and of the previous books. As the story progresses though, you start to recollect things from previous books and begin to put two and two together.
Towards the end it got more and more exciting and entertaining. It was funny and delightful and I am anxious for when I have the money or the credit to get the second book in the trilogy. I suspect the second and third books will be even better.
I say, give it a go. It is in my honest opinion, definitely a very good book.
