it was Good overall
Revisado: 03-24-25
The whole thing is great.. the overarching framework, the world, the diologe is not bad. The only real issue is the "Scree" of his bird form, and the animal sounds should be in your rough draft if it helps you imagine it as an author, but not in the final work as it's childish and kind of annoying. To be honest it really took away from this being 5 stars. I felt embarrassed for everyone involved every time I heard the author reading it out. otherwise I think honestly this book is all around good.

The book was great, honestly.
Revisado: 03-22-24
I love the book, but you have kinda written yourself into a corner here with the premise. This is not an ANTi-hero tale.. it's my first experience with what I can only see as ultimately an ANTi-villain for a protagonist.
The ants pose a problem for the end game of the story as a species. The Queen caste will need to be removed later on to make the ending any kind of happily ever after.
The Queen's are compelled by their very nature to reproduce endlessly. This means if the ants are not eventually fundimentally changed or ended they will grow endlessly and all resources on the planet would be monopolized by the endlessly ravenous maw of the colony regardless of their intentions. Their very nature even if well meaning would be an all devouring suck on the resources of the planet beyond what any other species compares to. An intelligent colony of ants which require the consumption of vast resources of biomass and valuable economic treasures to grow even mildly is the very embodiment of greed and gluttony to a level it itself is mindless and all consuming.

Drags on a little
Revisado: 12-30-23
The Male narrator is kinda flat, he doesn't express emotions honestly I guess I could say, or maybe he just isn't that into it.
The writing doesn't strike me as if the author is great with flirting.. also seems a little flat at times, almost childish as far as the relationships between characters. or at least that is how it feels, also it drags on.. for chapters and chapters without progress on the story or goals. The relationships are important, but if you take the first book for example.. the story came first.. now the relationships are the story it seems.

pity party
Revisado: 11-17-23
Please stop with the pity party. No person, let alone woman likes men with so much self doubt and need for reassurance. it's painful to listen to his self doubt so often. Four or five books between episodes at least please. Feels like it happens every third of a book almost. I'm personally, and no doubt many other readers, are tired of his self doubt. It is not only unheroic.. it's anti-heroic. It's a serious detriment to people in general, and it's not actually a trait someone who has high drive and talent at really high levels would posess. Someone who prepares like this, and has the focus needed to do these things could not afford to constantly doubt, and one that did would not be capable of achievement. By this point in his life it's no longer humble, and would have been washed out of his personality by his achievement.
And it's pathetic.
