Historia
Change is coming to Sweden’s far north: its untapped natural resources are sparking a gold rush with the criminal underworld leading the charge. But it’s not the prospect of riches that brings Lisbeth Salander to the small town of Gasskas. She has been named guardian to her niece Svala, whose mother has disappeared. Two things soon become clear: Svala is a remarkably gifted teenager—and she’s being watched.

Not the best in the series
Revisado: 01-31-24
I have loved this series but the writing for this book was not good. It is scattered and becomes incoherent at some places. If this is where we are in the series, let’s not do another book.

Historia
When unforeseen circumstances during an innovative—and unsanctioned—commercial asteroid-mining mission leave two crew members stranded, those who make it back must engineer a rescue, all while navigating a shifting web of global political alliances and renewed Cold War tensions. With Earth governments consumed by the ravages of climate change and unable to take the risks necessary to make rapid progress in space, the crew must build their own next-gen spacecraft capable of mounting a rescue in time for the asteroid's next swing by Earth.

Revisado: 03-16-23
Another good book by Suarez that covers everything except the bolt sizes used to build the Konstantin! The story arc follows a great path with a few more surprises that I expected.
Why then is this review not a 5 of 5? No spoilers - but I wanted more out of the writing at the climax at the end. After you conclude this great novel you may feel the same or still trying to remember the total tonnage launched from Mora Base!

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Good Good Good
Revisado: 07-06-21
Overall another good one from Andy Weir and the production of this audio book is phenomenal.
The one reason I am not able to give it 5 stars is the abrupt ending. After the extremely detailed chapters on each and every story arc we are given a few pages to wrap up the story. So disappointing.

Perfect Book For Geeks
Revisado: 02-10-15
There have been few books I could not stop listening to, if any. But this book was just that a series page turner that I found myself neglecting everything to finish. Will reading it was excellent and the story line was superb. If you love sci-fi, games, or just love technology this book is for you.

Historia
The Appalachian Trail trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America - majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaing guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way - and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in).

Revisado: 01-02-14
The story telling is good. If you are reading this to get a feel for how it will be thru-hiking the AT then read AWOL instead. Bill Bryson is great at telling a story and through his memory of hiking he did just that. For me though, I am a Bill Bryson hater....

Thought Provoking Book
Revisado: 03-07-13
If you are looking to understand the science and history around innovation grounded in facts that span the life of Ford, 3M, and Apple then this is the book for you.
Steven does a good job beating (read repetitive) into the science behind what makes innovation so special and albeit hard to manufacture.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

A book for life and business backed up with facts
Revisado: 03-07-13
This book applies a basic principal of asking yourself in every decision you are making in your professional career and personal life 'Why?' The good thing is it does not stop there, it continues on to support you (and its theory) with facts for exactly the reason you should be asking 'Why' in that particular scenario.
To many business books today provide a topical overview without any depth to support you or a theory. This book provides all of that and also is incredibly easy to listen to.
A rel treat is that this book sounds more natural reading it on 1.5x speed bump.

Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life. In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings listeners inside the Texas Governor’s Mansion on the night of the contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America’s most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor...

A Differnet Side of Pres. Bush Revealed
Revisado: 12-01-10
I finished this week reading (listening) to President George W. Bush???s memoir ???Decision Points.??? This book was one I had been anticipating for quite some time and after finishing it I must say I was not disappointed.
The book is put together completely different then other memoir as President Bush talks about not his life but the decision???s he had to make that shaped his presidency. Topics ranging from Iraq, Afghanistan, Stem Cell Research, 9/11, Staff Issues, Katrina, and the financial crisis you get an inside look into what went into his decision???s as well as a selfless look at how difficult of a time he had during situations.
The bigger topics (9/11, Iraq, Katrina) were quite fulfilling and intriguing the chapter he spoke on his work with AIDS victims in Africa was a side to this President I had never seen or read about it. His desire to combat the spread throughout Africa reveals the softer side of this war time President and something the US Media Outlets failed to reveal. President Bush wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post just today (12/1) talking about his ongoing policy to help fight AIDS.
Most like me will read this book to hear about how/why he dealt with certain situations the way he did (be prepared with a tissue when reading the 9/11 chapter, just warning you) but I hope as I did, others will see a softer side of the President Bush.

Great Idea's!
Revisado: 10-06-10
I stress the point of idea's because unless you are building company from the ground up as Tim did it will be nearly impossible to shift a large business (or medium size one for that mater) to a business run this way.
With that I give the book 4 stars as it is brilliant and inspiring. As others stated, the reading is poor which is why I give it 4 instead of 5.

Splended Look From the First Lady
Revisado: 10-06-10
First off, this is a book not about Politics but about the viewpoint of a very smart and intelligent First Lady.
I expected more politics but was pleasantly surprised to get a full picture being painted of the life of Laura Bush.
