Short of a few exaggerations this book describes farming in Bacon county in the 30’s to 60’s. I heard some great storytellers at Cartertown grocery. Although by late 50’s many farmers had a lot more machinery to help. My grandfather was Jesse Boatright but by 1962, when I started coming up each summer, he had no sharecroppers. Though an uncle sharecropper all his life I later learned.

Abe was God ordained to Hold True

Abe was in a firestorm as President. His party, GOP, had radical anti-slavery Now to conservatives who were said Go Slow. The Democrats were 70% against ending slavery. So at best he had 55% of voters for war to end slavery and keep the USA together. Those officials not in his camp did all kinds of crockery to stop him. Made me think of the swamp Trump found himself in.

Leave out the f word and save about 1/3 of the book. Legalistic with little heart. You can thank him for 10 pitchers a game.

Outstanding refresher of NT

Even as a life long Christian you will be refreshed in hearing this study! A wonderful statement of what the Kingdom on earth is to be. Very needed in today’s increasingly dark world.

Sad tales

I have lost some respect for Graham Nash and the band. Love the music, not so much their lives. I am not used to non stop vulgar language. Take out the word f—k and loose 25% of the words (slight exaggeration). A braggarts tale of lust and drugs.

The music stories were great but not the “tell all”.

Excellent choice of weaving two great founders with different visions

What an interesting read! The political mud racking was perhaps more viscous than today. Obvious parallels to today’s heated politics. USA has indeed become more Hamiltonian with the Federal Government now 1/3 of the economy and employment. What a built in voting block for bigger government yet. May God help us to slow down building the beast or it will crush us like the monarchs of old that Jefferson feared.

Outstanding “Radio” Drama/Comedy

This is a wonderful production. The play is thought provoking while making you smile at the same time. A nice combination with a neat double twist at the end. Loved the LIVE feel of the performance and you can feel the energy from each actor. Hope they do more work together! It brings “Broadway” to all of us not in New York.

Great examples of how the Deep State has hidden power

Mr. Chaffetz’s experience in Washington is a sad story of how lifetime government bureaucrats are the real power in Washington. Since they are predominantly Democrats, they protect Democratic politicians while aggressively harming Republican politicians. We need to give Congress the power to root out anyone who places their party over the interests of ALL Americans. God help us.

Excellent survey of 50 People God raised up for Ministry

Warren does a good job of providing a concise but informative picture of each persons upbringing, spiritual moment, and acomplishments . James Lewis was a great choice for reading. My only disappointment is that not having the hard copy, I have to listen repeatedly to find the spot where Warren makes recommendation of which books to start reading by one of the 50. Quote tedious. Once case where hard copy is superior.

Leonardo comes alive

Big fan of Leonardo’s art. Now I know he was many contradictions and huge procrastinator and left many paintings unfinished. But he typified the Renaissance man - jack of all trades, master of one. This book will certainly enlighten you on the artists time he lived in and the choices he had to make when there was not a good choice. Fascinating detail and thoroughly entertaining.
