Historia
In The Gift of Failure, leading conservative commentator Dan Bongino identifies failures in his life and how those failures led to bigger and better things. With the same laser-focused intensity that has made him one of America’s most popular voices, Bongino uncompromisingly cuts to the heart of failure with a collection that is inspirational, motivational, entertaining, touching, and redemptive.

I wanted to give it 5 stars!
Revisado: 09-16-23
I LIKE Dan Bongino - A LOT. I listen to his Podcast and his radio show daily (even though our local radio station dropped it) and I watch if he's on TV. The ONLY complaint I have about Dan is a quirk in his speaking style and it is prevalent throughout the entire book. He starts each sentence at volume 10 but ends each sentence at volume 1. I've noticed this on his podcast and radio program but just thought I wasn't listening close enough. However, I listen to a lot of audio books and his books are the ONLY ones that I have to turn the volume to MAX on my car audio and on my BOSE noise cancelling headphones. Even at that level at least 1/3 of the sentences end so softly as to be unintelligible. Since I'm older and my hearing isn't what it once was, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but this issue is prevalent on all platforms. I REALLY wanted to give this 5 stars, but it is very frustrating not knowing what the end of a sentence is and the point being made.

President Trump’s real nature and that of his family comes through in this book. He is certainly not the person that the cable news networks try to portray him mass. He will go down as one of the greatest presidents of all time.

Historia
John Eisenberg's That First Season is the seldom-studied prequel to a phenomenal football career for Vince Lombardi and the Packers, drawing on exhaustive new research and interviews to tell an incredible ensemble tale of a team, a town, and their leader. The once-vaunted Green Bay Packers were a laughingstock by the late 1950s. They hadn't fielded a winning team in more than a decade and were close to losing their franchise to another city. They were in desperate need of a savior, and he arrived in a wood-paneled station wagon in the dead of winter from New York City.

THE worst narration I’ve heard in over 100 audiobooks!! Nearly EVERY name, whether person or place was mispronounced. I’m surprised he was able to say Green Bay properly. One would think that someone be paid to read a NON-FICTION book would learn the pronunciation of names and places, particularly many PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAMERS, before recording the performance. Absolutely AWFUL!

In Three Days in Moscow, Baier explores the dramatic endgame of America’s long struggle with the Soviet Union and President Ronald Reagan’s central role in shaping the world we live in today. On May 31, 1988, Reagan stood on Russian soil and addressed a packed audience at Moscow State University, delivering a remarkable - yet now largely forgotten - speech that capped his first visit to the Soviet capital.

The best book about Ronald Reagan the man that I’ve ever read/listen to. As you would expect Bret Bauer’s narration is flawless. I can’t wait to listen to it again!

Historia
More than any other sports figure, Vince Lombardi transformed football into a metaphor for the American experience. The nine seasons during which he led the Green Bay Packers to five world championships is the most storied period in NFL history. Lombardi became a legend, a symbol to many of leadership, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, and to others of an obsession with winning. Maraniss captures the myth and the man, football, God, and country in a thrilling biography that has become an American classic.

What's in a name?
Revisado: 05-05-17
While The Narrator has a pleasant voice and read the book well, the fact that he mispronounced numerous names incorrectly was extremely distracting and made listening to the book almost unbearable. His mispronunciation of Paul Hornung was extremely annoying. Often it sounded as if he was saying Hornum or HorNUN. Even Paul himself says HORNING. His pronunciation of the various towns and cities in Wisconsin, the names of the board members shows a real lack of preparation prior to the performance. He couldn't even pronounce Green Bay properly. He often called it GREEN bay with the emphasis on the word GREEN. It is pronounced Green Bay with equal emphasis on both words or Green BAY With the emphasis on Bay. Because those names are repeated often in every chapter it became a very big distraction listening to the book. He even mispronounced the name of the author.
