Well-Armored and Masculine
Revisado: 03-10-20
I read this as an antidote to the feminizing vulnerability worship of DARE TO LEAD by Brené Brown. Chapter 6 on revenge was awesome. Nothing like a dose of Trump to strengthen the soul.

Historia
Brené Brown has spent the past two decades studying the emotions and experiences that give meaning to our lives, and the past seven years working with transformative leaders and teams spanning the globe. She found that leaders in organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all ask the same question: How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? This audiobook answers this question.

Gramsci Dupe Bordering on Evil with an Open Heart
Revisado: 03-09-20
Like so many left-leaning and emotion-appealing academic authors, Brené Brown has permitted herself to fall into the trap set decades earlier by the most dangerous socialist in history, the cultural Marxist Antonio Gramsci. Nowhere in this book will you find her explicitly support either Gramsci or Marx, yet any student of history can easily trace the sources of her ideas back to these two men. This evident and deliberate ignorance of the doctorate-holding Brown make this evasion all the more tragic.
Whatever other benefits the author peddles, her overarching message remains thoroughly riddled with the "politically correct" and Marxist-inspired notions of class warfare, not just economically, but racially, ethnically, and sexually. Her incessant prattling about these topics and "privilege" repeatedly only distracts from what could serve as a useful message about the utility of trust and transparency in effective teams. Her Marxist treatment of the human experience as seen always from the perspective of these classes echoes Gramsci's assertion that truth is merely a ruling class construct. Her preoccupations with behavior and shame indicate a deep sense of secular guilt because of her alleged "privilege." Her non-stop railing against armoring of the heart and her worship of vulnerability expose her desire to inflict "forced feminization" onto men, thus making them more malleable to involuntary social conditioning toward Marxist ends.
I feel sad that ideas like these have taken root so deeply in Western thinking. They will bring an end to Western civilization as we know it. When blood spills because of this decline, some of it will spatter on the hands of Brené Brown by her own doing whether she admits it or not.
Read THINK BIG AND KICK ASS by Donald Trump for a well-armored, masculine antidote to Brown's feminizing drivel.

Historia
Religion is central to the lives of millions of people around the globe. But how did the great religions begin, and what do their followers believe? Religions of the World tells the remarkable story of some of the faiths which have helped to shape the way we live today. Aimed at younger listeners, it introduces the history and scriptures, beliefs and customs of some of humanity’s most enduring religious traditions, and looks at their place in the lives of men, women and children across the world.

I never took a world history course in high school or college. This book corrected that deficiency. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
