Good story, the narration is not to my taste

I like many things about Krueger's novels, but the overly sentimental depictions of the O'Conner family and indian traditions, coupled with David Chandler's narration style make this the last one I'll listen to.

I enjoyed the other two "Alex Carter" novels but this one requires a considerable suspension of disbelief. Alex becomes a woman with superhuman abilities in an overly complex story, and characters with illogical motivations and actions. There was very little mention of the Caribou which became a sidebar to the storyline.
But, that aside, this is a pretty good series about the adventures of a passionate wildlife biologist and her loving observations of the natural world. I'll listen to her next novel with the hope it's just a little more down-to-earth.

Enjoyed it and learned a lot!

Kevin's stories, observations, and experiences were fascinating and most a cautionary tale of what can happen if you aren't paying attention in a national park. The book was beautifully narrated by Timothy Pabon whose voice was well-matched to the author's respectful and compassionate approach to his work.

A very enjoyable story and mystery made excellent through Hugh Fraser's reading.

The dark subject of serial killers, stalkers and human monsters is mitigated by Anne Marie Lee's excellent southern-style reading. I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and look forward to more.

Of the 1000+ audio books I've listened to over the past 8 years, this is in the top 10. Gregory Harrison's first person narration for Fritz Tullis was perfect in capturing the character in this original and unpredictable story. Truly suspenseful.

This is a condensed little handbook of self defense tactics - vulnerable points that don't need a great deal of strength to exploit, and it discusses common myths that could get you hurt. The book emphasizes the importance of situational awareness and the use of these self defense tactics as a way to allow escape. Unplugging, being present to the environment, and practicing some simple strike points could make all the difference. Well-worth the small investment.
