Great book! clever story!
Revisado: 02-09-22
loved this book! laughed and cried! I found the first chapter to be a little confusing since it didn't introduce the main characters, but I listened to it again after I was a few chapters in, and gained clarity. I would recomnend this book to a friend.

Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

My cheating ex has me swearing off men. Until Lewis comes along, stealing my breath and my good sense. I've never been one to lust after guys. But Lewis is six-and-a-half feet of rugged man, and he's...eye-catching. Sexy. And silently brooding in all the best ways. The more time I spend with him, the naughtier my thoughts are of us together, and he's not helping put a stop to it.

Author does a good job painting a visual and social picture of late 1800s Europe. Loved Arabella's character... independent, strong, and determined!

This may be my favorite, so far, of the series. I enjoyed the seeing the layers peeled back on the main characters and I loved the humor that Magness brought to so many situations throughout the story! I listened to several passages multiple times for laughter!

I liked it, but did not love it.
Revisado: 08-21-20
I liked this book, but it was not an easy listen... 3 stories come together but it takes a while. There were not many references to Alabama besides a few cities.. What happened to Blake? Why didn't Coot become a baseball player? I'm a little disappointed. I did like the male narrator!

Historia
Laurie is sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend: the man from the bus.

I loved this book. I made time to listen instead of listening when I had the time. The friendship and love story were touching and heartwarming. It is written in a way that drew me in, and I became emotionally invested in the main characters! Would love some after story!

A few months later, a judge's son is convicted of the crime.
