Compelling plot, loveable characters.
Revisado: 07-26-24
I haven't read many paranormal romance novels, but after reading the blurb for Guardian, I had a strong feeling about it. I’m so glad I trusted my instincts because I loved every moment of the story. And who doesn’t love a guardian angel?
The characters are well-developed and multi-dimensional, and the plot pulls you in with its numerous twists and turns. I found myself on the edge of my seat as Alex and Cierra battled against the ‘FOEs’ intent on their destruction. The romance between the couple is deeply palpable and emotionally resonant.
I received the audiobook version as a gift, and the narrator did an incredible job bringing Alex to life with a soothing and captivating tone. This is one of the best debut novels I’ve ever come across. The next installment of the trilogy promises to be even more intriguing and fun, and I can’t wait!

Historia
Grief and love are at the center of the human and divine drama. How we find our way through the mazes of these losses and gains determines our character, meaning, purpose, and our legacy. When clergyman, psychotherapist, and spiritual director Hal Edwards lost Betsy, his wife of 50 years, he was perhaps as well placed to chart his passage through that maze as anyone.

Hope for the grieving
Revisado: 04-26-22
I found this book inspirational and motivating. It moved my soul in the most meaningful and beautiful ways. I recommend this book for those working in the field of mental health or to gift to the bereaved in your life in the hope they can benefit from sharing the author’s wisdom. All of us will experience loss at many points in our lives, and this book helps face those losses with understanding and love, through meditation and journaling.
The narrator’s presentation creates a perfect connection between the listener and the author with a clear and confident delivery that kept me engaged to the end.
I received the audiobook freely with the hopes I would submit an honest review.

Historia
After spending months unable to use her powers, Brynn Warren is once again using her gift and working at her family's bed-and-breakfast. Her heart is full, and although one of her aunts wonders if it might be a little more full with a bit of romance in her life, Brynn is certain that finding love again is not in her future. In fact, she can’t imagine anyone being more certain of anything...except for maybe, the recently deceased Mortimer Sweete. He’s certain he’s been murdered, and he wants Brynn’s help to bring his killer to justice.

Chocolates and Potions
Revisado: 04-25-22
When the Crow’s Away by Auralee Wallace is the second book in the Evenfall Witches B&B Mysteries, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first book in the series, although I found the pace to be a bit slower this time around. That said, I found it thoroughly entertaining. It was fun to reacquaint myself with the cast of colorful and unique characters, meet new ones, and learn more about the quirky aunts’ personal backgrounds.
The plot takes Brynn Warren on a quest to discover, with the help of her recently reacquired witchy powers, who murdered the candy shop owner, Mortimer Sweete, as requested by the ghost himself. As a bonus, we learn a bit about candy making, potions and poisonous plants.
The allusion at the end to aspiring witch Nixie’s brother suggests there could be some romance later on for Brynn Warren, and being a romantic at heart, I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Once again, the narrator did an outstanding job of setting the pace and tone, holding me captive with a perfectly delivered tongue-in-cheek humor.

A thrilling and emotional experience!
Revisado: 01-22-22
This is the third book I read by Nalani Titcomb, but the first in audiobook format. I loved them all, but this one is my favorite by far. The fast-paced and seamless storyline, combined with a strong, consistent narration, make it a thrilling and emotional experience. Though it’s described as suspense/action, this is first and foremost a love story, a romantic one between two strong, lovable characters, and that of a mother’s love for her son. I was pulled in from the first sentence, and I’m still feeling warm and tingly inside. Nalani is a very talented writer and I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Mystery and magic
Revisado: 01-13-22
I was hooked on the characters of this book from the start. The story is well-crafted and highly entertaining with a succession of twists and turn.
The narrator’s witty style and slightly sarcastic edge pulled me into the story, holding me spellbound - no pun intended! With a colorful cast of characters each with their own distinctive voice, from Brynn’s quirky aunts to the neighbor across the street and the crow named Dog, this audiobook was a joy to listen to.
I liked that these witches weren’t the kind that practice sorcery, but regular people with some extraordinary abilities. Despite these qualities, they are highly relatable individuals, particularly Brynn, who has suffered the tragic loss of her husband and consequently, her powers, yet is determined to find the real killer to defend her aunt. It kept me guessing who the killer was until the very end. I highly recommend this audiobook.
