Historia
Sabrina Brooks is a wildly successful, bestselling author of gripping thrillers. Unlike her fictional characters, Sabrina lives a quiet life in the Berkshire Mountains with her two beloved dogs. But behind this peaceful exterior is a dark, painful past. As a child raised by an emotionally distant father, Sabrina rarely felt love. And as an adult, her marriage twisted into an abusive relationship from which she had to escape.

Positive

This is a perfect story to listen to if you aren’t feeling well. It’s repetitive so you don’t have to pay attention to every detail and it ‘s positive.

An outstanding book
Revisado: 04-02-24
This was an all around excellent audiobook. It didn’t drag me down into a depressing haze, as I feared it might. I think It was the heroism and good qualities of the prisoners that elevated it. Instead of fighting over bread, they shared it. The narrator brought chilling authenticity to enemies’ voices.
The story was engaging and immersed you in the horrific experience of being in a concentration camp.
I highly recommend this book!

Historia
Newlywed Jade Westmore has finally found her forever in husband Wells, a charming, successful, and recently divorced architect—only there’s one caveat: behind the gates of their elysian estate, hidden from street view in the caretaker’s cottage … lives Wells’s first wife, Sylvie. Three years ago, the original Mrs. Westmore suffered a nervous breakdown—and hasn’t uttered a sound since. Not a physician, psychologist, or world-renown specialist has been able to elicit so much as a word from the silent woman … until now.

Not the Greatest
Revisado: 03-26-24
As I listened to this, I kept on thinking, “This is like a Lifetime movie!” The story was predictable, but I got caught up in it anyway. But towards the end, there were even more inconsistencies, and the quality of the writing declined. Jade’s narrator did a good job.

A wonderful work
Revisado: 03-14-24
The language was spell-bindingly poetic and the narration top-notch in this work of historical fiction. So many aspects of human existence were touched upon in this tale. I learned new things about the Massacre at Glencoe.
A wonderfully woven tale I will not soon forget.

Historia
Though American by birth, Frances Wynn, the now-widowed Countess of Harleigh, has adapted admirably to the quirks and traditions of the British aristocracy. On August 12th, each year, otherwise known as the Glorious Twelfth, most members of the upper class retire to their country estates for grouse-shooting season. Frances has little interest in hunting - or birds or a second husband - and is expecting to spend a quiet few months in London with her almost-engaged sister, Lily, until the throng returns.

An enjoyable whodunnit
Revisado: 11-21-23
The book was slow to start but soon caught my interest. It was fun experiencing a mystery set in a different time, 1898.
I gave the narrator 4stars because as well as she was doing to make it an interesting story, full of different accents, at times it was hard to distinguish who was saying what . Also, she mispronounced some words, which I found annoying. Other than that, a good job.
There was a bit of repetition in the story, which could have used some editing. The romance was sweet, though predictable . Not a bodice ripper, thank goodness. All in all, I enjoyed this book.

An enjoyable read
Revisado: 06-21-23
Not James Patterson’s best, but engaging. The narrator didn’t do women’s voices well and there was one conversation between two men where u couldn’t distinguish who was who. But I still felt engaged— he didn’t wreck the experience for me, as other narrators have in the past. His accentv was reminiscent of John Fogerty more than Elmer P Fudd, but that’s just my opinion. Nevertheless, Ii enjoyed the book — just what I was in the mood for! Escapist, no heavy lifting.

I was about to give up on this book, but stuck with it. I thought it wasn’t a good match for me, and maybe that part wasn’t’.I am so glad I stayed with it! After about the first half or so, it was hard to stop listening! The narrator did a fabulous job.

An Engaging Read
Revisado: 05-16-23
The book started a bit slowly, but soon I was involved with the characters and the story.I enjoyed the read. There were a few inconsistencies, but they didn’t bother me. It was nice to be taken back to life in another time. the ending left questions unanswered. After reading reviews I was prepared for the chapters happening at different times, telling different parts of the story. I got involved and found it hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it,

Its author tells the story of a priceless tarot deck, now lost to history. As Semele delves further, she realizes the manuscript is more than it seems. I didn’t want it to end
Revisado: 01-08-23
I would even stop listening at times because I was enjoying this book so much and didn’t want it to end. The ending was the weakest part, a little melodramatic for me, but otherwise it made for a great read. Historical fiction, mysticism, mystery, even a some romance without going into the amount of detail you would find in a JD Robb novel, for example.
I look forward to reading more Gwendolyn Womack books.
