Great story and the narration made the book come to life. Actually enjoyed this book more than the first one in the series. Won't give any spoiler alerts but I found my self cleaning something a second time just so I could listen longer. Worth the credit and I highly recommend. Ross Pendleton is an astounding narrator!

Enjoyed this one. Narration with Scottish accent was awesome, and the story kept my interest. So much so I just ordered another in the series. Don't want to give away any spoiler alerts, but I really enjoyed Kitty's brother Jeff finding his way back in time to help her. All in all it was well worth my $$.

Not typically a Fantasy lover but it was great!.
Revisado: 01-17-25
I'm not typically a fantasy lover but I really enjoyed this book. So much so, that I just put the second in the series in my cart. The story was great and the creatures? Well, it's amazing how one can get so attached to a character even if it IS a strange little creature, or a big giant one. Almost as if they were human. Story was well written. Makes me wonder what in the heck goes on in an authors head to dream up such stories and creatures and make me believe they could be walking around in MY world. The narrator is fantastic as well. Highly recommend this one to all my "I'm not crazy about fantasy" friends. You'll want more.

Loved this one. Well Worth the credit
Revisado: 01-10-25
Absolutely loved this book. I'm a sucker for romance and put pirates into the mix and I'm hooked. Have never read or listened to the author Rachel Rueckert before but I adore her style of writing. Characters were outstanding and I loved how she delved into their thoughts and emotions. The narrator was astounding as well. Don't want to give away any spoiler alerts so will simply say I highly recommend this book. I'll be looking for more sublime reads by the author and narrator as well.

Historia
A heartwarming, uplifting village romance for fans of Holly Martin, Tilly Tennant and Cathy Bramley. Buying a thatched cottage in the country may not be the usual cure for a broken heart. But after Clara Maxwell finds out her boyfriend and best friend have been sneaking around behind her back, packing her bags and leaving everything in London behind feels like it's the only way forward. When Henry Garnett, her (rather handsome) new contractor, turns up with his little daughter Pansy and a van shaped like a cottage in tow, she isn't sure whether to laugh or cry.

Absolutely Delightful
Revisado: 01-01-25
Story was great with relatable characters. a little romance, a little psychological intrigue, a few secrets, a cute little girl and a handsome widower. All in all I adored this book and found myself walking my dog more times during the day than I usually do just so I could listen. Narrator was awesome, accent was easy to understand and I've put Francesca Waite down on my favorite narrator list. Worth the credit in my mind.

Historia
I played all those cool video games. I watched all those movies. I even read the books. In most of 'em, the hero shoots the bad guys, drives a sweet car, never gets hungry, and always seems to get laid by the end. Yeah. Whatever. I gotta be straight with you about why I wrote this journal, and it comes down to one thing, the apocalypse kinda sucks. It doesn’t meet my expectations at all.

Meh,.. kinda disappointed
Revisado: 12-24-24
Typically I LOVE anything by Bobby Adair but got a little bored with Dusty's waxing and waning with all his thoughts regarding politics, consumerism, pharmacies, the taste of the prepper food and life. Since I'm of the mind that I HAVE to finish what I started, I switched to 1.5 speed to get through the book faster. I have a potty mouth myself, unbecoming for a woman of my age but honestly, I got tired of the excessive, never ending cursing. I did finish this book and would ask for a refund but it's not available for some reason on this particular book. I will continue reading Bobby Adiar but will shy away from any successive books about Dusty.

Historia
A caravan driven at breakneck speed through the hills of Montana is the least of Magdalena Baxter's concerns. Evicted from their home, and due to soon give birth, the Gypsy woman is forced to follow her husband, Oswald, a drunk and abusive miner who hopes to find work in a neighboring town. Despite calling Sweetwater Springs home, wealthy banker Caleb Livingston clings to his elitist East Coast ways. While this may have brought him prestige, he's missed out on romance at every turn.

Loved the story, narrator not so much
Revisado: 08-12-24
I liked the story. Debra Holland always comes up with great stories however I was NOT impressed with the narrator. She was too breathy, whispery. She should have just kept the same voice regardless of whether it was male or female since her male voice was not very good and her constant forced laugh was SOOOOO irritating I almost stopped listening after the 20th time. But I'm the kind of person who has to finish a story so I listened to the whole thing. If the author says a character "laughs" just say "Maggie laughed" and do not try laugh in place of reading the line. It was forced, terrible and incredibly irritating. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Historia
I’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love - I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar. Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s 27, the boss’ daughter, and my new part-time nanny - which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her. What kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?

Revisado: 09-08-23
Story was enjoyable though much like many other's I've listened to. Younger woman, older man with children, who hesitates at getting involved because of the kids but does anyway. Kept my interest and the sex was not overdone. Some modern romance books I've finished were basically porn under the guise of a romance. Narration was good and I'll be looking for other books by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood. All in all I liked it.

Historia
Patrick, or Gay Uncle Patrick (GUP, for short), has always loved his niece, Maisie, and nephew, Grant. That is, he loves spending time with them when they come out to Palm Springs for weeklong visits, or when he heads home to Connecticut for the holidays. But in terms of caretaking and relating to two children, no matter how adorable, Patrick is, honestly, overwhelmed. So when tragedy strikes and Maisie and Grant lose their mother and Patrick's brother has a health crisis of his own, Patrick finds himself suddenly taking on the role of primary guardian.

Revisado: 09-04-23
Loved, loved, loved this book. Story was great and narration was the best. So many times books narrated by the writer have left me wishing I could have my money back. I was hooked from the first minute I started listening. Characters were so delightful, pulled from real life experiences I suspect. And it not, then Steven Rowley has more insightful talent on what people are really like inside and out than one could imagine.
Each of the characters from the children, their guncle and his siblings, to the neighbors, they all captured my heartstrings. This book is and absolute delight.
