Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

The Greatest!
Revisado: 02-22-11
This is my all-time favorite Stephen King book! I have read every one he has published under his own name, and many of the Bachman Books, and Under The Dome is, without a doubt, my favorite!

A new store has opened in the town of Castle Rock, Maine. It has whatever your heart desires...if you're willing to pay the price. In this chilling novel by one of the most potent imaginations of our time, evil is on a shopping spree and out to scare you witless. Presented unabridged and read by the author.

Another Great book from Mr. King. The only think keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the naration could be better.

Historia
On a brisk autumn day, a 13-year-old boy stands on the shores of the gray Atlantic, near a silent amusement park and a fading ocean resort called the Alhambra. The past has driven Jack Sawyer here: His father is gone, his mother is dying, and the world no longer makes sense. But for Jack everything is about to change. For he has been chosen to make a journey back across America - and into another realm. One of the most influential and heralded works of fantasy ever written, The Talisman is an extraordinary novel of loyalty, awakening, terror, and mystery.

Great
Revisado: 01-31-10
I don't know what some people are complaining about; Frank Muller is one of the best narrators I've listened to, and he doesn't let us down in this great novel.

Good book poor narator
Revisado: 05-19-09
This has to be one of the most annoying narrators I've listened to all the way through. I can handle mono-tone and other quirks, but this guy doesn't know how to pronounce MANY simple words/names. i.e. SAC ("Sack"; for Special Agent in Charge), Ickes (Harold Ickes, pronounced Ick-ees, has been in democratic administrations from FDR to Clinton), and many more.

While I found this book somewhat interesting, I do not understand why the publisher claims that the Anderson case 'defined his career'. The sideline plots (completely unrelated to the case) gives yet another review of how the Republica party came to be.

Historia
Here is the astonishing, never-before-told story of the greatest rescue mission of World War II: when the OSS set out to recover more than 500 airmen trapped behind enemy lines. During a bombing campaign, hundreds of American airmen were shot down in Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia. Local Serbian villagers risked their own lives to give refuge to the soldiers, and for months the airmen lived in hiding, waiting for rescue.

Pleasant Surprise
Revisado: 12-17-07
Well, after over a year of listening to audible, I finally decided to write a review... As another review mentioned, this is two stories in one. The secondary story, discussing the situation between Tito and Milosevic, and the American handling of Milosevic is truly a story in itself. I have always been an "American History" buff, but now I find myself looking for more on this episode in world history. This book is a great listen, the narration is above average, and the story(s) grab your attention right from the start.

When scholars write the history of the world 20 years from now, and they come to the chapter "Y2K to March 2004", what will they say was the most crucial development? The attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11 and the Iraq war? Or the convergence of technology and events that allowed India, China, and so many other countries to become part of the global supply chain for services and manufacturing?

Eye Opening
Revisado: 10-01-05
As some previous reviews have stated, much of the material in this book is well known, and not new. What makes this book so great is how he ties so many pieces of history together in an explination of how we have arrived in our current global economic state. I found the examples and case studies very informatitive. Only one correction - a camshaft does not control the movement of pistons in an engine (no, that doesn't affect the material whatsoever).
