Historia
If you’ve ever been so pissed off that you did things that you regretted, or ruined your own day and some other people’s, too, this book is for you. Or if you feel angry every single day and it’s affecting your health and sleep and love of life. Or if you have very good reasons to be mad as hell, and you aren’t going to take it anymore. Or if you’ve repressed your anger all your life and now it’s all coming out at once.

Really made me think
Revisado: 07-01-24
I enjoyed how she didn't pull any punches or use only polite words and statements. there was a lot of content for me to think about and reflect on. I felt like she "gets it".

Historia
Over the past several years, Dr. Becky Kennedy—known to her followers as “Dr. Becky”—has been sparking a parenting revolution. Millions of parents, tired of following advice that either doesn’t work or simply doesn’t feel good, have embraced Dr. Becky’s empowering and effective approach, a model that prioritizes connecting with our kids over correcting them. Parents have long been sold a model of childrearing that simply doesn’t work. From reward charts to time outs, many popular parenting approaches are based on shaping behavior, not raising humans.

Historia
When Emma Johnson's marriage ended, she found herself broke, pregnant, and alone with a toddler. Searching for the advice she needed to navigate her new life as a single professional woman and parent, she discovered there was very little sage wisdom available. In response, Johnson launched the popular blog Wealthysinglemommy.com to speak to other women who, like herself, wanted to not just survive but thrive as single moms.

Really for single moms who are dealing with an ex.
Revisado: 06-28-24
The first few chapters had some really great info that I found valuable. However, I am a single mom with no man in the picture. I felt like most of the book didn't apply to me or my situation, even though she made some references to single by choice mothers. I wouldn't bother if you aren't dealing with an ex situation.

I had no idea how much my parents behavior had impacted me.
Revisado: 06-20-24
This book was really eye opening for me! I was able to see each of my parents in the roles they played out and just how deeply it affected me growing up, and my behaviors into my adult life. I have been able to start implementing some of the strategies she suggests and have already seen and experienced changes in myself and how I interact with my parents.

Very Educational!
Revisado: 06-20-24
As a woman who has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and has a daughter under going evaluation for Autism, I really appreciated her approach to explaining what approaches there are to therapy, understanding what other people with neurodiversity feel is "typical" about their thoughts and behaviors, as well as what experts say about what is "typical" among divergent minds. I found it extremely helpful in understanding myself and some of the things my daughter does as well.
