Historia
For the crime of stealing bread, 14-year-old May receives a life sentence: She must become a Sin Eater - a shunned woman, brutally marked, whose fate is to hear the final confessions of the dying, eat ritual foods symbolizing their sins as a funeral rite, and thereby shoulder their transgressions to grant their souls access to heaven. Orphaned and friendless, apprenticed to an older Sin Eater who cannot speak to her, May must make her way in a dangerous and cruel world she barely understands.

Such a fascinating world
Revisado: 12-14-20
I couldn't listen enough until this is finished. The story, world, and characters are interesting and well developed. Rather than the combination of stories given in the description, I would consider it a mix of Brother Cadfael mysteries, The Other Boleyn Sister, and The Red Tent.

Historia
These stories are about how, many years ago, Arthur the once and future King of England, set out to save his country from the troubles that plagued it, aided by the brave knights of the Round Table, and the most famous sword in the world, Excalibur. How Merlin the Wizard fought against the wicked Morgana le Fay's enchantments, and how Arthur loved and lost the beautiful Guinevere, his Queen.

Good quick intro to Arthur

King Arthur legends are great, but can take time getting into. My eleven year old and I listened to this over a couple of days to get the broad strokes. Now he is interested in some of the individual legends.
