Hands down the best book in the series so far
Revisado: 08-14-24
This book had a ton of character development and highs and lows. Alot of dark sequences that are unique to this book alone out of over the 100+ books I have listened to. Constantly this series has reminded me of the Malazan book of the fallen series for it's uniqueness and darker premises.

Honest Review from a Man
Revisado: 12-13-23
I was recommended this book from my Girlfriend. I likely never would have listened to it by myself. I Did enjoy the book. The author's writing was intelligent and intriguing. Some very descriptive eye brow raising bedroom scenes.
This book is told from the eyes of one character. 90% of the book is her inner dialogue and that was something I had to get used to. No character swaps or narration. Definitely meant for a women's ears but as a man I did enjoy it and I will be listening to the next books.
I did feel that there wasn't enough lore. Not enough background on the races and magic system. How ever. To do that you would need a main narrator and character swaps to get these things. If the one and only character we hear from in this book doesn't know about it then neither do we and because of that I won't lower my review.
Overall I am pleased with the author's work and I do like her ability to bring the main character to life for me to see in my mind.

Historia
The complete unabridged audiobook of J.R.R Tolkien's The Silmarillion. The Silmarillion is an account of the Elder Days, of the First Age of Tolkien’s world. It is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings look back, and in whose events some of them such as Elrond and Galadriel took part.

Revisado: 02-27-22
don't expect anything like the LOTR or the Hobbit before listening to this audiobook. it was hard to listen at first. alot of name and liniage of people and God's never heard of. very hard to keep track. but towards the second half stories of the people got really good. definitely need to listen. to it twice. ALOT OF NAMES.
