Historia
Glasgow in the 1950s. Private investigator Lennox is keeping a low profile, enjoying a secret fling with the daughter of shady bookie and greyhound breeder MacFarlane. When MacFarlane is found bludgeoned to death, Lennox is a suspect. Luckily, he has a solid gold alibi: he was in bed with the victim’s daughter. Lennox is quickly drawn into hunting the killer, and it turns out MacFarlane was into some seriously dodgy stuff.

Awesome

Great story and characters. I love listening to the narrator. Sean Barrett is amazing in his different voices and Scottish lilts.

Historia
Bellicus, Duro, and Cai have travelled south to join the warlord Arthur and his growing army of Britons. New friendships have been made, and exciting adventures await the warrior-druid and his companions, but the threat of Hengist and his invaders casts a dark cloud over all. For years, the Saxons have been content to remain mostly confined to the eastern parts of the country, but now that they are marching west, Hengist has amassed the biggest army seen on these shores since the Romans left over 20 years ago.

Another great addition to the series

I thoroughly enjoy the writing and the characters created. I find the narrator hard to enjoy but that’s a personal opinion. Can’t wait till the next one

Historia
For years, rumors of the 'Marsh Girl' have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved.

Amazing
Revisado: 07-21-22
Absolutely beautifully written. Besides being a wonderful book it also has amazing word pictures. I’ve never seen in person the locals say in the book but I was transported there during the reading. I listen to audio books while working outside and at times the book had me standing still to listen, not due to plot twists but because I was so enthralled in the story that I couldn’t concentrate on what I was doing.
Highly recommend

Not for me
Revisado: 02-22-21
Good narration but a terribly unbelievable story. Unrealistic character actions and reactions and a truly bizarre ending.

In the last years of the ninth century, King Alfred of Wessex is in failing health, and his heir is an untested youth. The Danes, who have failed so many times to conquer Wessex, smell opportunity.... First comes Harald Bloodhair, a savage warrior leading a Viking horde. Astonishingly grating
Revisado: 04-14-19
Another great tale of Uhtred, however, the narration was terrible. It is beyond me firstly, why the reader decided to change the pronunciation of several of the main characters names, secondly changing Uhtreds birth place but third and most importantly, why on earth wasn’t it corrected during production. Instead of getting lost in the story I found myself being jolted back to the now, all seemingly due to poor decision making and quality control.
