Fascinating, eye-opening
Revisado: 08-15-13
What made the experience of listening to Beyond Belief the most enjoyable?
The truth behind Scientology finally revealed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beyond Belief?
When she finally decided to leave the "church".
Which scene was your favorite?
Many memorable moments that were shocking in the way that people, especially children were treated and the way they had no regard for families.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I couldn't imagine being subjected to the brutal hours of ridiculous questioning that people had to endure.
Any additional comments?
Interesting how people can become so brainwashed in this and other cults and how one crazy person can influence so many people.

Not one of the best
Revisado: 05-01-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not. It did not live up to my expectations.
Has Kill and Tell turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I do not think it was typical for this genre.
Did Natalie Ross do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Somewhat, although things were not always clear.
Do you think Kill and Tell needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, would not want to read a follow-up.
Any additional comments?
This book was more erotic than mysterious. I think the author spent too much time describing sexual situations in great detail rather than providing mystery or suspense. Not exactly what I expected this book would be.

Historia
Catherine has been enjoying the single life for long enough to know a good catch when she sees one. Gorgeous, charismatic, spontaneous – Lee seems almost too perfect to be true. And her friends clearly agree, as each in turn falls under his spell. But there is a darker side to Lee. His erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, and trusting no one, she plans a meticulous escape.

Confusing story
Revisado: 02-28-13
What disappointed you about Into the Darkest Corner?
It jumped around too much in time and I could not make any cohesive sense of it.
Would you ever listen to anything by Elizabeth Haynes again?
Probably not, I did not enjoy her style.
Did David Thorpe and Karen Cass do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I found I was mixing up the characters all the time, the story was hard to follow
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Very disappointed.
Any additional comments?
I could only get about halfway through this story, it was too hard to follow. I got bored with trying to make sense of it all and the tedium of the main character's OCD rituals.

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Love It!
Revisado: 02-28-13
What did you love best about Gone Girl?
The story was fascinating from beginning to end, with so many twists and turns. The characters were great and I was never sure if there was a bad guy or a good guy.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Gone Girl?
Definitely the ending was stunning.
Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I am not sure, I have listened to so many different narrators.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Suspenceful
Any additional comments?
If you love a good mystery thriller, then this is definitely a must read.

Historia
In American on Purpose, Craig Ferguson delivers a moving and achingly funny memoir of living the American dream as he journeys from the mean streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to the comedic promised land of Hollywood. Along the way, he stumbles through several attempts to make his mark - as a punk rock musician, a construction worker, a bouncer, and, tragically, a modern dancer.

Great Book
Revisado: 10-21-09
I loved this book! Craig's sense of humor shines through, even in his darkest hours, and it's even more enjoyable to listen to with his lilting Scottish brogue. He never let his struggles get him down and his love for America is evident. It makes me proud to be an American. I hope someday he takes the top spot in late night TV, he's better than all the rest.
