Kind if after-school-specialy, but good concept

I like the concept and took notes that I'll share with my work group. I just can't recommend this book whole-cloth to them though. The fact that a big plot point was a guy telling the woman who's the main character to "smile more" was jarring and distasteful. It's not that it's unrealistic, but it was played completely straight that, yeah, she was wrong for making his day worse for not smiling at him. So tonedeaf. It was really disappointing given that the material is good. (And to be clear, I consider this a "justified complaint". The solution? Don't do that again.) Also, I can't take a book that has such strong biblical themes into the office. I'd get pulled into HR. Without the nurse's comment about her church group and then the church scene, I'd have recommended it to my department heads. The big takeaway being that if church-heavy content isn't a problem for you, this won't be an issue. If you don't like having scripture snuck in with your professional development like we live in a theocracy, maybe still give it a read because I think it was good regardless? But at least forewarning: it gets churchy

Too many scissors

I guess I'm old enough now to have a midlife crisis book for people my age, and I've gotta say, I dig it.

it's a really fun read, and as a dv survivor, I found out neither pandering nor triggering. Also, fantastic affirmative consent in the steamy bits. Loved it.

The best thing for me is that it manages a "person in over their head" plot without piling it on so hard that it stressed me out, which that kind of thing usually does.

I found the parents to be a little inconsistent, but frankly? That could scan for parents given the generations involved, and the hoarding was treated really respectfully.

So, good read. I hope to read more from this author.

Thunder Perfect Mind

This book is an easy listen. It's short. I loved it.

It's a look at what Christianity used to be, a faith for all peoples. It's beautiful. This is meant to be comedic, and it is funny. However, if the church was still like this? I'd be there.

Trigger heavy and worth it.

This book deals directly with violence against women, so there are obviously triggers.

The bastard get what's coming to them in the end. Trust me and read through it.

good book but highly triggering

I couldn't put it down, even though the triggers came early and often. usually the ending at least pays off, but this one didn't. Don't start this one. You won't be able to quit it and it'll put you through the wringer. I'd look into the author's other works.
