Good narrator!

Spoiler alert: so it turns out that the lead character’s wife was murdered by his own brother. No explanation for why. Just glossed right over it, kind of funny

Historia
Is Number 67 Clarges Steet the unluckiest house in Mayfair? Every season the beau mondes of the Regency would hire a house in the heart of London’s fashionable West End at disproportionately high rent for often inferior accommodation and yet Number 67 Clarges Street, a town house complete with staff, remains vacant from year to year. Could it be that it is associated with ill luck and even death? Something must be done so that the servants of this house don’t lose their livelihood.

Historia
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

Historia
Miranda did not put adventure on her Christmas list, but thanks to her 85-year-old neighbor Joy, that's exactly what she's getting this year. When Joy tells Miranda that she plans to drive an old RV decked out in Christmas decorations from their Chicago neighborhood to her new retirement digs in Phoenix - in the dead of winter, no less - the much younger Miranda insists that Joy cannot make such a trip by herself. Besides, a crazy trip with Joy would be more interesting than another Christmas home alone.

Like a Hallmark Christmas movie
Revisado: 12-28-22
If you enjoy the Hallmark channel you will like this book. I thought it would be a nice change from my usual murder mysteries, and be a lighthearted book to read at Christmas. The story was trite and predictable, but the two main characters were likable so I plowed through. The narrator made it even worse, her voice was very high and breathy so all the female characters sounded like they were about seven years old. And her over enunciation drove me crazy. If you like Harlequin Romances and the Care Bears, I highly recommend this book!
