Historia
Liz and Sarabeth were childhood neighbors, brought as close as sisters by the suicide of Sarabeth's mother when the girls were just 16. In the decades that followed - through Liz's marriage and Sarabeth's attempts to make a happy life for herself - their relationship remained a source of continuity and strength. But when Liz's adolescent daughter enters dangerous waters that threaten to engulf the family, the fault lines in the women's friendship are revealed.

Can you say..Depressing
Revisado: 12-11-07
Let me start by saying that I did not finish the book. I gave it a valiant effort, it was a book club choice or I would have given up much sooner than 5 ½ hours into it. I kept waiting for a real storyline, but it was just suicide, deep depression and selfish personalities.
There is really no storyline – just one boring depressing life after another… arrrghhh so frustrating to waste a credit…

Very good in spite of the Sex
Revisado: 09-08-06
I kind of stumbled on this series - and thought that I would try it since it received so many rave reviews. I usually read thrillers/suspense novels, but I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the narration was fantastic. I just skipped over the highly descriptive sex scenes but the story is very engrossing and I had a difficult time putting it down, in spite of the sex.
I was very disappointed to see that the follow up books in the series are all abridged, except the latest but that didn’t stop me – I had to get them all, now I am waiting for the next installment and the movie!

Historia
In many ways, Carrie Parker is like any other eight-year-old: playing make-believe, dreading school, dreaming of faraway places. But even her imaginative mind can't shut out the realities of her impoverished North Carolina home or help her protect her younger sister, Emma.

Simply Stunning
Revisado: 06-05-06
This book brings you into the life of an 8 year old, dealing with issues that no child should have to face. She is so innocent, but as the reader be prepared to be outraged, to cry and to laugh. I really enjoyed the voice of Cassandra Morris, she does a fabulous job. I think this book will stay with me for a long time. I finished it this morning, and it has been on my mind all day.

Historia
One of the most acclaimed novels in recent memory, Charles Frazier's Cold Mountain is a masterpiece that is at once an enthralling adventure, a stirring love story, and a luminous evocation of a vanished American in all its savagery, solitude, and splendor.

I greatly enjoyed the story & I LOVE his voice!
Revisado: 01-01-05
I usually don?t go back to re-read reviews - but I was looking for another book to read and since I loved this book and fell in love with Charles Fraziers voice - soft and southern. I thought I would see if he has done any other work.
I saw people saying he didn?t do a good job, I wholeheartedly disagree - I love his voice and would love to hear anything else he chooses to read.

And the point was?
Revisado: 10-16-04
I think it would be a lot more entertaining to a much younger person. Any adult over 40 will be bored to tears! This story was entertaining on occasion but mostly outrages, utterly absurd, and pointless.
