Another Great Entry in the Series

I love this series. This was a great addition with a cliff hanger that makes me excited for the next addition. The narrator, as always is phenomenal!

Love the stories but Addie is so unlikeable
Revisado: 08-23-24
I love most of the characters in this series except for the main character. She always acts like everything should revolve around her. While she had reason to be upset in this book, she got upset at everyone about anything that didn't revolve around her. I know the next book has her in England. However, if she comes back I hope she ends up with Mark. I've always been in the Mark camp.

So Nice to Have a New Title In the Series
Revisado: 07-10-24
This is one of my favorite series. I had gone through serious withdrawal after the 4th book. I checked regularly if there was a new title. While it took me a chapter to get up to speed on the characters, it was a wonderful book and story. Hope the wait between this book and the next in the series isn't as long!

When the Briar Creek Public Library holds its first overdue book amnesty day—no fines for late returns—the volume of incoming materials is more than Lindsey and her staff can handle. In a bind, Lindsey drafts the crafternoon ladies to help check in and sort the stacks of books. But one tardy tome catches her attention—a copy of J. D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye, twenty years past due. When Lindsey looks up the borrower, she’s shocked to discover it was a murdered teacher named Candice Whitley, whose killer was never found.

Horrible Narrator
Revisado: 04-01-24
I have enjoyed this series up until this one. I couldn’t even concentrate on the story because of the horrible narrator. All characters sounded the same in a very monotone voice. I didn’t even finish the book and regret that I used a credit on it.

Don't Bother
Revisado: 02-08-22
While the narrator is really good as are some of the supporting characters, the main character is totally unlikeable. She is totally juvenile and expects people to be perfect and react in an unrealistic manner. I listened to the first three books because they are part of the Audible Plus Catalog. I wouldn't listen to any that I have to pay for.

Summer Merriweather's career as a Shakespeare professor hangs by a bookbinder's thread. So she spends her summer in England, researching a scholarly paper that, with luck, will finally get her published, impress the dean, and save her job. But her English idyll ends when her mother, Hildy, shuffles off her mortal coil from an apparent heart attack. Returning to Brigid's Island, North Carolina, for the funeral, Summer is impatient to sell her mom's embarrassingly romance-themed bookstore and go home. But then she finds threatening notes addressed to Hildy: Sell the bookstore or die.

First Time in Fifteen Years I've Returned a Book
Revisado: 11-27-21
This was absolutely the worst book I have ever listened to. I listened to the first few chapters and then listened to the last full chapter. I really didn't care who committed the murder or why. I wasn't invested in any of the characters and the narration was horrible. I do not know if I've ever heard her before. She may be a good narrator in another context, but her voice combined with this story/characters was just unappetizing. I was hoping I'd like it as none of my preorders are available until the end of December and I'm out of books that I haven't listened to. But, nope, this one is not for me.

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Don't Bother
Revisado: 06-29-21
I have never written a review of any book that I have read/listened to on Audible. I've listened to books on Audible since 2006. I listen to 30 - 40 books a year. There have been books that I have loved and others that I haven't liked as well. However, there have been none that I absolutely hated. That is until I got this title. The narrators were fine but the story is so convoluted and it was so hard to keep track of who the character was that was speaking. This is the first book that I went to the very end just to see who the killer was and who was killed. You don't know either until the very end. I then marked the book as read and moved on to my next book. I had no desire to see how the book got to the end. The issue wasn't that the story was told from different points of view or that the time jumped from one day/one hour to another. It was that there were too many different points of view and they weren't very interesting. So, don't bother reading this one.

They say all politics is local. In 2020, Mitch McConnell will have served five full terms as a US Senator. Thirty years. The Senate Majority leader's power is as undeniable as it is infuriating, and the people of Kentucky have had enough. Led by Matt Jones, they (and they alone) have the power to oust him from office. How did Jones, a local boy turned attorney turned sports radio host come to shine the brightest light on McConnell's ineptitude?

Fantastic Book
Revisado: 04-11-20
If I'm in the car when KSR is on, it is on my radio! So, listening rather than reading Mitch, Please was a no-brainer! It is more like Matt just telling the story rather than being a narrator. I loved it! I learned a lot about Kentucky that I didn't know. Matt truly loves Kentucky! Loved Chris' footnotes! I also enjoyed getting to hear about Matt's process for deciding whether to run or not for Senator.
