Historia
Sadie Grace is wanted for witchcraft, dead (or alive). And every hired gun in Kansas is out to collect the bounty on her head, including bonafide witch hunter Old Tom and his mysterious, mute ward Rabbit. On the road to Burden County, they’re joined by two vagabond cowboys with a strong sense of adventure–but no sense of purpose–and a recently widowed schoolteacher with nothing left to lose. And as their posse grows, so too does the danger.

A Wild Ride
Revisado: 11-18-24
Red Rabbit by Alex Grecian is like a twisted rodeo, wrangling elements of folk horror, Western grit, and supernatural surprises. Each chapter unfolds like a daring ride on a bucking bronco—you hold on tight, knowing that something dark, wild, and unexpected lurks just beyond the next page. Grecian’s characters, each rough around the edges, ride alongside you through eerie ghost towns and dusty trails, haunted by demons, witches, and their own ghosts.
As someone who relishes a mix of the paranormal with a classic Western setting, I felt drawn to the story’s blend of dread and adventure, feeling right at home around Grecian’s metaphorical campfire. The narration by John Pirhalla, complete with hauntingly sung verses, adds a layer of depth, making you feel like you're out there on the open plains with the posse.
As you can expect, the witch isn't quite so bad (neither are the ghosts), but the path is riddled with demons and cannibals. This book isn’t your typical horror—it’s nuanced, with characters you end up caring about. Grecian invites readers to get comfortable with the uncomfortable, delivering a story that’s easy to listen to but hard to shake off.

Historia
Failed academic Frank Nichols and his wife, Eudora, have arrived in the sleepy Georgia town of Whitbrow, where Frank hopes to write a history of his family's old estate - the Savoyard Plantation - and the horrors that occurred there. At first, the quaint, rural ways of their new neighbors seem to be everything they wanted. But there is an unspoken dread that the townsfolk have lived with for generations. A presence that demands sacrifice.

This is perhaps one of the best books I’ve ever read. Certainly the best werewolf horror book I’ve ever read. It’s the American Werewolf in London of books.

Interview with a werewolf, but tough to get through
Revisado: 09-15-24
Extremely repetitive. I liked some of the concepts but sometimes it felt like a chore to get through this book. I genuinely wanted to like it more, I thought the geography was very unique to a werewolf tale. But if you’re looking for the genuine, spooky vibe that goes with a werewolf book, you won’t find it here.

Werewolf James Bond
Revisado: 06-25-24
I usually have reservations about World War II era fiction. Because it is just so beat into the ground. This was an outstanding surprise. In my opinion Wolf’s Hour is probably among the top three werewolf books ever written. Not so much from a horror perspective, but there is so much action that it easily makes up for it.

Historia
2045, the Arctic Circle. A crew of six aboard the research vessel, The Nox, embark upon a voyage through the melting ice and Arctic dark in search of the last of the polar bears. The mission represents a ray of hope in a world ravaged by climate change, but it quickly becomes clear that some on board are in search of more than bears. Isolation and the disorientation of 24/7 darkness soon have the group losing their grip on reality – accidents, nightmares, or hauntings – no one can be sure, but the voyage seems cursed.

A masterpiece
Revisado: 10-21-20
I didn’t know what I was expecting from this, the title in the cover really don’t do it justice. This is a romance, coming of age story sculpted from lovecraftian nightmares.
So many great scenes. It was a really fresh take on “the hound” as well.
