Just ok

I think I expected too much of this book. It was ok, but could have been better.

Historia
Lillian and Madison were unlikely roommates and yet inseparable friends at their elite boarding school. But then, Lillian had to leave the school unexpectedly in the wake of a scandal, and they’ve barely spoken since. Until now, when Lillian gets a letter from Madison pleading for her help. Madison’s twin stepkids are moving in with her family, and she wants Lillian to be their caretaker. However, there’s a catch: The twins spontaneously combust when they get agitated, flames igniting from their skin in a startling but beautiful way.

Quirky and absorbing
Revisado: 05-25-20
While the narrator of this story speaks with plenty of expletives it seems to fit her and the situation — the way Eleanor in The Good Place speaks. The premise is imaginative and the relationships believable even if the affliction is not. Or maybe it’s a true story? I hope he writes a sequel—I want to know what happens as they grow up. The reader does a great job too!

In the 10 years since the publication of her beloved, groundbreaking Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life, number-one New York Times best-selling author Amy Krouse Rosenthal has been quietly tinkering away. Using her distinct blend of nonlinear narrative, wistful reflections, and insightful wit, she has created a modest but mighty new work.

Best ending ever
Revisado: 05-08-18
I’m a fan of AKR, and find her happy and quirky outlook on the world life affirming. The knowledge that she’s no longer walking this planet cast a deeper dimension on this reading. How I wish I’d read this earlier and been able to take advantage of her offers of interaction. Goodbye, I love you, thank you.
