Historia
Meet Randi Burnett—she’s brilliant, she’s beautiful, and she works for the bride. Missing groom? Intoxicated in-laws? Crying ring-bearer? You name it, she wrangles it. Too bad her personal life isn’t thriving like her side gig as a bridesmaid for hire. Recently dumped, Randi throws herself into her biggest challenge yet when she’s hired as a maid of honor and pretend best friend for an ice queen bride. There’s just one problem—the best man is infuriating, overprotective, and anti-marriage.

And not always in a good way. Plot line of main characters was more like 20 year olds than adults. Clueless.

Historia
Gemma Summers is unlucky in love. She's known it since third grade, when her first crush blew a spitball into her hair, and a decade-long string of bad dates, boring sex, and abysmal morning afters has done nothing to improve her prospects. But when a random radio call-in contest lands her courtside tickets to the hottest playoff game of the season, Gemma's luck may finally be on the upswing, even if it doesn't exactly seem like it when the dreaded Jumbotron kiss cam lands on her and her date.

Female authors please stop writing weak female characters.
Revisado: 09-05-24
Performance is a bit strident and overdone. Issues with the story line- really detest the portrayal of artists as helpless, clueless women. It’s incredibly insulting. In general I hate that authors are still portraying their female leads as weak dingy women unable to stand up for themselves or complete a sentence when dealing with assholery and nasty men. This plot device needs to be permanently retired. I expect better from female authors.

Historia
Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

Thoroughly enjoyed dialog between smart characters. Book lovers love books about book lovers. Well written and performed. First Emily Henry read, but certainly won’t be the last.

Does the author really need to make all the character so dense?
Revisado: 02-11-24
The plots are ok, performance is fine- I blame the author for Zero character development and zero progress over the course of now 6 books. With all that has happened it is 100% implausible that the cops stay incompetent and the main characters stay so bloody naive. Only the ghost and the pets have any sense.

Disappointed after waiting for something great from Chase’s story
Revisado: 01-09-24
The first 9 chapters need a serious rewrite. I’ve read the entire series and this was without a doubt the least favorite, and most poorly developed. It’s like some cheesy porn writer wrote the first 9 chapters before any plausible character development began to advance the complex plot that wrapped up a story line through all 10 previous books. Had to listen at double speed until the plot actually engaged. Author’s warning re sensitive subject matter should have warned not against handling of subject matter, but against the ridiculous dialog and plots flaws of the first chapters of the book. No way would 2 damaged souls be so oblivious to red flags and danger. Hoping subsequent books focus on character development that’s congruent with the storyline. Author phoned this one in. And Rachel, please stop writing plots letting brilliant women do totally dumbass things. It’s insulting and unimaginative.

11hr and no resolution of ending
Revisado: 11-25-23
Enjoyed the first be but was expecting g a continuation, explanations and closure- I stead gotten new characters, confusing multiple (4-5?) plot lines, an abrupt ending leaving one main character lost in the past, ongoing issues in present and absolutely nothing resolved. The plot line of the title was the least developed of all and I was stunned when it suddenly just stopped and “used the title” to end the book. WTH? If there’s a 3rd, I don’t care because I don’t trust the author to finish that either.
