Historia
Holy unanticipated occurrences! It begins, as the best superhero stories do, with a tragic accident that has unexpected consequences. The squirrel never saw the vacuum cleaner coming, but self-described cynic Flora Belle Buckman, who has read every issue of the comic book Terrible Things Can Happen to You!, is the just the right person to step in and save him. What neither can predict is that Ulysses (the squirrel) has been born anew, with powers of strength, flight, and misspelled poetry - and that Flora will be changed too.

It was a great story and the narration made it so much better than it would have been if I had read it myself.

Historia
No longer tolerating her husband’s borderline abuse, Faith escapes to her parents’ California beach house to plan her next move. She never dreamed her new chapter would involve befriending Sarah, a fourteen-year-old on the run from her father and reeling from her mother’s sudden and suspicious death. While Sarah’s grandmother scrambles to get custody, Faith is charged with spiriting the girl away on a journey that will restore her hope: Sarah implores Faith to take her to Falkner’s Midnight Sun, the prized black mare that her father sold out from under her.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Historia
Hailed as a masterpiece of American travel writing, Blue Highways is an unforgettable journey along our nation's backroads. William Least Heat-Moon set out with little more than the need to put home behind him and a sense of curiosity about "those little towns that get on the map-if they get on at all-only because some cartographer has a blank space to fill: Remote, Oregon; Simplicity, Virginia; New Freedom, Pennsylvania; New Hope, Tennessee; Why, Arizona; Whynot, Mississippi." His adventures, his discoveries, and his recollections of the extraordinary people he encountered along the way amount to a revelation of the true American experience.

I had a hard time getting into this book and almost quit. Then suddenly I got caught up in the cadence of the language, the history of the times and the wisdom of William Least Heat-Moon and the people he met on his journey. I've listened to several sections over and over. I'm so glad I didn't miss this book.

What disappointed you about The Book of Mormon?
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The reader's voice was flat and monotonous. My Alexa app has better inflection. I'm returning this, but would be interested in purchasing again with a different reader.

Please label the "Parts"
Revisado: 01-14-18
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
As other reviewers have noted, this is almost impossible to navigate. It loaded onto my device in 17 parts, but none are even labeled part one, two etc. Since they got out of order as they loaded, I now have to click on up to 17 different "parts" if I am looking for a specific section. When I click on something I have no idea if I'm getting something from the New Testament or the Old Testament or from which books. I can click on a part, listen to find out what book it's reading, check my bible to find out where that section falls chronologically, and then, most likely, close it and try again with one of the other 17 parts.
Any additional comments?
I love the performance and, of course, content. What a shame that all of the beautiful work from the readers is ruined by the formatting.

Narrator Rob Inglis is amazing
Revisado: 10-08-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Fellowship of the Ring to be better than the print version?
Rob Inglis narrates all three of the trilogy and his ability to make a myriad of characters come to life is amazing! I now know what orks, ents, and hobbits all sound like and they all sound distinctly different from wizards, elves, and future kings. The characters really come to life. Sam is never confused with Pippen or Merry and your can hear Frodo's exhaustion grow as he continues on his quest. I enjoyed them so much that I'm starting them over again.

The temperature's on "sizzle" again in Beaumont, South Carolina, where peach trees are in season and ripe for the picking. So is its newest entrepreneur, Annie Fortenberry, who has inherited her grandmother's B&B (and its eccentric handyman Erdle Thorney). According to a local psychic she also inherited a spirit from its glory days as a brothel - not the kind of publicity the Peach Tree Bed & Breakfast needs.
