Came for the voice, stayed for the story.

Loved it all. Though I originally came to this book to hear Mr. Mckellen's narration, the entire book was great, although a bit short. It's the kind of story where you really can't tell if it's supernatural or not, but it's enjoyable all the same. I myself am inclined toward high fantasy or sci-fi, but I would still recommend this book, just a shame that a few of the books are not available on Audible, or at least at time of writing.

An Even Better Surprise!

Having read the first book in this series, I thought it would be easier to predict as things kept going forward, but I must confess myself truly surprised by the narrative Twists in the mystery if this book. An absolute joy to read, I highly recommend.

Spectacularly Written!

I always love Yahtzee's books and they've always got their own vibe. His Save the Galaxy series is sci-fi with heavy comedic elements. That said Differently Morphous is something of a fantasy novel set in modern times with murder mystery elements. The answer to the mystery is well done, with enough evidence to point to it, but subtle enough to still take you by surprise. Highly recommend this book to anyone.

Too Technical at Times

A good book to be sure, but Verne often goes into incredible detail of technology or biology. I can see why some people would definitely appreciate that level of immersion, but I find I'm more fond of Wells' pseudoscience approach which is detailed, but not to an overwhelming degree. I'd add this particular version was well read and very enjoyable.
