I kept listening to this story wondering how anyone could write such a depressing one.
I knew things had to change but I was really wondering. I’m glad to say my guesses were more or less correct. Mostly I found the story intriguing but depressing. It took to the last few chapters before my review went from 1 star to 4 star. If you can stick to it, it’s worth it.

Think of the story line and not the actual writing

I've been a long time reader of erotic romance and a long time listener of Audible and have bought lots of different types of audio and printed editions of assorted books.
I did have a hard time reading and listening to the story, being in the immediate present. Not something one is used to in romatic literature. But I did give this book a chance and kept at it. I have now read the full series - twice and listened to the full series three times. I love the books, yet I am willing to admit the writing is not as good as I have seen before. Forget about the writing, the present tense and just enjoy the story.

Great Book!

One of the best series, I've ever heard! I have since started to read the books and am even getting around to reading shorts that Jeaniene has written.
For those who get a kick out of English Accents, this book has two great accents.
Tavia's Bones (Crispin) is just great! I got a kick out of Spade's (Charles) accent too. For those who didn't get the accents - I'm fron London, England and I found Bones' accent authentic. The changes of accent were really good.
Jeaniene Frost is a fantastic writer, but I have found other authors that i have loved and the narration has ruined the book for me.
Please don't change this narrator - she does an excellent job.
Jeaniene can't wait for the next book!

Loved this book and the narrator was perfect for it too!
Well written and well read.
You can always tell which person was talking - always a help with an audio book.

Just love the book - the whole series too.
Great narrator - worth the cost of the book - the ebook and the audible - all of which I have - now I can read or hear the book/series anywhere!

I loved reading this book and loved the narrator too. Her voice was perfect and you always knew which person, in the story, was talking.

Narrator is not one of your best!

Sorry, loved the book, but the narrator's 'breathy' voice is just not sexy.
I do think that even though Marguerite is supposed to be a 700+ year old vampire, she is supposed to look only 25-35 years old and have a body the same. The narrator may have been better to have made Marguerite's voice more commanding rather than of an older woman's.

I really like Rick Robertson reading the Lynsay Sands books.
He certainly has a lovely sexy voice which really does help!
Even though he doesn't really emphasis the charactors alot, you can still tell who is talking.
Rick Robertson really does justice to Lynsay Sands books.
As I have read all the books and heard all those
on Audible so far, I hope Audible has the sense to keep Rick Robertson as the narrator to all the books.
