Bears aren't guilty
Revisado: 08-22-23
A slow start even with the finding the body right away but eventually the book won me over. The performance was adequate but not a lot of range. I picked out the murderer fairly quick but with tons of twists and turns the mystery was still enjoyable.

Good cozy
Revisado: 01-12-23
One thing that's mentioned in other reviews is the tone of the narrators voice. It is interesting and very breathy especially in the first several chapters as most of the dialogue is her thinking her story. I enjoyed the mystery, the possibility of romance and of course the old English Sheepdog that came to stay. Just be sure to listen to a sample prior to purchase.

A struggling journalist, Sabrina can’t believe her luck: a paycheck and six nights in her own suite at the Plaza. She feels like Eloise, the heroine from her favorite children’s books. To make the job even more exciting, Grayson recounts how he worked as a butler at the Plaza 60 years ago for none other than the author of the Eloise books.

Revisado: 12-18-22
This holiday cozy is worth the listen. It covers 2 time periods but isn't confusing. Lots of descriptions of NYC and the Plaza hotel are well integrated into the story so it doesn't feel like a travel log. Main Characters are pleasant but could have been fleshed out a bit more and less predictable.

Nothing earth shattering, no violence, sex or swearing, just a nicely done Christmas romance to enjoy listening to on these high stress days. Written well and narration is pleasant. Enjoy!

Historia
Whitney Whitaker has scored the perfect piece of real estate: a ramshackle white Colonial at the top of a hill with views of downtown Nashville. What more could a self-taught home-improvement maven and occasional house flipper ask for? Ideally, the property of Whitney's dreams would not have come with a dead body blocking the entrance to the foyer. But Whitney, always quick to take heavy duty matters into her own hands, also happens to be a skilled amateur sleuth. So that helps.

OKAY
Revisado: 11-20-22
For previous readers of reviews, Pikes Peak is the highest point of the Rockie Mountains in Colorado. Pike place Market is the oldest farmers market in Seattle on the waterfront along side other wonderful places to visit.
The Author tried to make Seattle a character in the book and there is a wonderful spice and tea shop at Pikes that makes a lovely orange cinnamon tea. I think that the author would have been more successful if the references to local history were cut some. The mystery was OK.
I recommend this book for anyone feeling nostalgic about Seattle.

A complete story
Revisado: 11-03-22
Well narrated and written. It's nice to read a finished book. I also think that there is enough plot and background to make a nice series. The love story climaxes with a kiss in an appropriate 1850's style. Several unforseen surprises that were fun. Nice read for a snowy winter weekend.

can't wait for# 4
Revisado: 10-14-22
I stayed awake all night reading and unable to put it down. Beguiled is the 3rd book in this continuing story, leaving off at the exact moment of the previous book. This one is a bit more sexual than the previous 2 and it's great that 2 women in their forties are the central characters. The odd ball assortment of beings collected bring a great deal of humor to the books. I recommend buying the next book before the previous one and dedicating a weekend to enjoy.
