Historia
As Nicky Hector—the unstoppable slasher from the Lunatic horror movie franchise—Jonathan Zain reached levels of fame once unimaginable to a young actor. On top of headlining fifteen films, he appeared on MTV, had his own 976 number, and became one of the most recognizable faces of the 1980s. But that was thirty years ago. Now it’s 2010, and Zain is a has-been celebrity making his living signing autographs at fan conventions, a relic of the bygone slasher movie boom.

fantastic slasher

Really adored this one. Especially perfect for old-school slasher fans. Lots of dark comedy and meta commentary on the genre.

Sarah is worried. More than just worried. Sarah is terrified. Her young daughter, Emma, hasn't been acting herself lately, and it's getting harder and harder to keep the whole thing under wraps. Especially when Nadine, the nosy neighbor from next door, is starting to suspect something and Sarah's sister, Jess, just shows up unexpectedly, making everything even more difficult for Sarah.

unapologetically weird!
Revisado: 09-03-22
Most writers are very picky about the subgenre their horror novel sits in. Will it be "weird", "cosmic", or "extrene"? Thankfully, Angel Van Atta checks "all of the above". This book ALSO manages to be sympathetic and beautiful as well. It balances warm compassion and gut gobbling, flesh tearing, and eyeball popping gross-ness with an even hand. There's definitely room for growth -which is true of all burgeoning indie authors, myself included- but Angel tells a wicked story with depth and detail. The Child is an excessively weird book... and it's easy to fall headfirst into!

It's a hot, hot night. Too hot to be making love, unless your romance is young, like Sherry's and Duane's. It's their first time, and the anticipation is killing. There's just one problem: they have no condoms. Duane goes out to get some, but then Sherry hears what sounds like a gunshot.

A restrained, eerie, and mean spirited trear
Revisado: 06-10-19
I've been impressed with this author, and this may be my favorite of his books. It's a slow burner that takes it's time to build to a brutal and realistic ending. loved the imagery and satanic chills.

Historia
Who better to repel a body-snatching alien invasion than a group of teenage horror nerds? Billy and Tom are best friends, but each knows that at the end of the school year they'll be moving in different directions. But why not go out with a bang and throw one last video night? They can invite some girls over, order a pizza, then maybe try and fight the alien infection that's taken hold over their suburban town. It's The Breakfast Club meets The Night of the Creeps in this slime-drenched '80s horror romp.

Historia
Looking for evil is one thing... finding it is another. When Patricia White revisits her backwoods home, an atrocious secret from her past isn't the only thing that begins to haunt her. Creepy, erotic, and relentless, The Backwoods delivers up a new kind of horror in a foreboding terrain of reclusive hillfolk, demented murder mysteries, and soul-searing horror. Has the town Patricia calls home really been cursed? No, it's been blessed. By an unspeakable evil older than sin.

By no means the worst book ever. I loved the atmosphere, the Squatters, and some of the gore... but in the end, it's very tame and very forgettable. Not the worst... but really not the best
